Tentacles 2: Electric Boogaloo

We're going to keep this short and sweet because we are sending you to a link! There is blinking. That's how you know it's important.

* * * EVERYTHING YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS EVENT BUT WERE TOO AFRAID TO ASK * * *

On Monday you can expect a new Warden daypost and a waking up mingle.

Questions go here! Plotting goes anywhere! Previous event info this way.

Re: the power restrictions upon arrival, a lot of Zel's strength is based on the fact that he's stone and therefore really heavy. It's not really possible to de-strength him without de-stoning him which would literally tear him apart. If we wanted to really restrict his strength the best way I can think of would be, like, a drugged effect where he has trouble with coordination and can't do any damage, sort of like the effects in game when one uses too much powers? Would that work?

Naturally he wouldn't be de-powered to a point where there would be health concerns, so in cases like this one it would be a neutering to as close to a normal human level as medically advisable. Since he is heavier, you're free to play up that he gets tired more easily or has problems with coordination but that's ultimately up to you!

What makes you think you get undergarments?

Greedy.

Are we going to do a plot with me type thing for this event? I'd be fun to get with everyone and have people you wake up with be all shuffled and awkward yes pls.

Actually, you're standing on it. Notifs were turned off so people could plot! It mentions it right after it gives the link for questions.

There will not be a second one.

We discussed running a formal shuffle, but given the amount of time and past experience with people not living up to it even after volunteering themselves and subsequently leaving their shuffle-mates in the lurch we decided not to this time. However, people are more than welcome to seek out new and awkward roommates to wake up with for CR purposes.

apologies if this was answered in the text and i somehow missed it, but i figured it was safer to ask and look silly now rather than later: will seven be fully human and sans implants for this event or will she be retaining her borg attributes and still need to regenerate?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]marinanova_mod

Seven will retain all implants, but none of their enhanced features will work properly. (We aren't necessarily up on every detail of her implants, so apply that as you see fit and if you have additional questions about something specific, just let us know.)

She will still need to regenerate, but it won't be something she chooses. A bot will find her at night and escort her willingly or not to the hospital where she will be made to regenerate. The hospital in this prison isn't really a place you can choose to go or not go. If they deem it appropriate they abduct escort you.

Yes hello I have some questions.

When Data first arrived in Marina, he was damaged as he is at the end of First Contact, missing part of the "skin" on his face and arm. Would he revert to that condition, as the repairs were made in the facility?

Also, with him being weakened, I am assuming that would affect his physical strength, reflexes, and whatnot. Would that interfere with his computational speed, accurate memory recall, ability to deactivate his emotion chip, or any of his other systems? Perhaps even in glitchy ways?

Also also would he get rations like everyone else? Because he's just gonna hand them over to people who actually need to eat, if so.

I think those are all the questions I have. I am sorry he complicates everything. Androids are rude.

Arrival: In the case of someone having arrived with physical injuries/damage, this would be resolved, so you can assume he has been fixed.

Abilities: Interesting question! His intelligence and recall may stay the same since we aren't limiting any of the geniuses. I would say things like turning on and off the emotion chip and his big on/off button are the same. Things that might be reduced—as I try to remember episodes of Data being hardcore—are areas where he can affect other computer systems. I don't mean simple hacking, but any kind of removing a finger tip and using a special tool, but I'm not sure how well I'm remembering that, and you didn't bring it up, so just try to play within the spirit of that and if you have more specific questions, let us know.

Rations: Honestly, we could go either way on this, so we're going to leave that up to you!

Such rude androids! No, perfectly alright to ask. Let us know if that doesn't answer everything.

Okay, stupid questions here, but it's relevant. Helen's hair is dyed and while she's only been here for a total of two days, since the FAQ up there mentions the hair is different and physical changes have been reverted, I was wondering if she'd end up waking up as a blonde (her natural color). Ngl, I'd find it hilarious. And IF SO, can she find / ask for hair dye?

The physical changes refer to changes that were made during her stay within the dome, so if she came in with dyed hair she will keep the dyed hair!

Random, oh so random questions, but I'm to assume that the dome protects them from all outside influences of the moon such as the particle dust/electric fields, etc, yes? Just asking because if I'm wrong, I think it would be hilarious to have my characters just walk up to an object and touch it and then end up with an afro-esque hair-do thanks to static electricity. Not to mention, of course, difficulties with breathing thanks to the dust.

Just like in Marina, the dome protects the inmates from all outside influences of the location.

Since the showers are communals do they have curtains on them or it is just one long wall of shower heads for the to use like in a locker room?

In this particular aspect, the wardens have been more than generous: the showers are divided into stalls with curtains and everything, similar to this.

I have another one! It says...

"Vampires and other inmates that require blood as sustenance will receive one bottle (50cl or 16 oz) of synthetic blood every morning instead of the standardized food package."

So for vampires that are able to consume both, does that mean they will only get one?

Going to add to this to say in VK Vampires don't need blood to survive. But they need it for their sanity?

That said they CAN live off of just blood. YUUKI WILL PROTEST TO THE END THOUGH D

Oh... just thought of something.

I know Tieria's quantum brainwaves will be cut off, as that's a genetic enhancement. But, Innovades have nanomachinery in their bodies to increase healing speeds and slow aging to a crawl. Would those be affected as well?

Possible dumb question, but if inmates are prevented from double-dipping on rations by DNA scanners or something as implied in the day post, there is a way to differentiate between two inmates with the exact same DNA, right? Like, say, Dirk and Bro. Telomeres maybe idk.

So, if they don't take anything with them from MarinaNova, would Jack still have his wriststrap, please? (He did arrive with it at MN.)

[info]marinanova_mod

They will be showing up with no accessories or personal items of any kind in this dome. So, no, he will not have his wriststrap, however, he will have it again upon the return to MarinaNova.

Also, please be careful where you ask questions on posts like this. We only noticed it by chance. We turn notifs off so people can use the post for plotting so when we make a specific questions thread it's partially because we won't know if you ask somewhere else and partially so other people can see answers that are possibly relevant to their characters. Granted, no one is actually plotting, but good to remember for when they might.
