Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

	That's what I was thinking. I didn't get anywhere asking questions, but there's supposed to be another warden. I haven't found a library or a hall of answers here yet, but that doesn't mean there aren't clues. 	There is. If you hit the map button things are different now, but there's not much on it. I'm up for seeing it for myself though. I'm guessing if I suggested I scout it out first while you stay somewhere safer you'd ignore me, right? [ she's pressing the 'map' button as he gives her the answer, and she takes those few seconds the scan over it. it's not much, and nothing exactly promising. then again, they wouldn't put it on a map.

he gets a look for his hypothetical suggestion. the answer is yes, you would be ignored, sam. which is why she's instead wrapping her fingers around his wrist and tugging him along from the mess area towards the exercise/recreation yard. ] I want to see outside. [ her fingers drop a little lower to twine with his. ]

[Nothing marked exit, that's for sure.] So do I. [Are they holding hands? They seem to be holding hands. This is really strange. And nice. Nicely strange? Strangely nice? Dean would be teasing him so much if he was here, but right now Sam can't help but smile at it. He should probably look less happy what with being in a more prison-y version of prison.]

I wonder if it's very... different. [Yes, that was him catching sight of the dome with the storm raging on the other side and everything eerily calm within. We're not under the sea anymore, Toto.]

[ elena might be smiling too, if they weren't in the middle of the nowhere they don't know. yet. it's a comfort, and also both nicely strange and strangely nice; she likes the feel of their hands fitting together. she keeps his hand as they emerge outside, even when she stops at the fuller picture of what's surrounding them.

she saw of the storm clouds before, but this is a little more striking. (pun intended???)

she walks a few paces, her lips parted, still holding his hand between them as she turns to face him. ] So they weren't kidding about the storm. [ they really have no idea where they are - and they didn't before, but it's still just as worrying to her as it was the first time. ]

[He's just looking out across it. That's a hell of a storm. When she speaks, his eyes move back to her. There are around a hundred other inmates here with them, but somehow, standing out here in this wide expanse under the storm in this smaller dome he feels like they're alone.]

I guess not.

It's going to be okay. [He's not even sure why he feels like she needs the reassurance or maybe he wants to hear the words too.]

[ she appreciates it. there's a realistic part of her that doubts everything will be okay, but she knows, at the very most, they're better equipped now to deal with this - she is. that's what she tells herself and believes. her expression softens and she nods, turns more towards him. it's as much reassurance to herself as it is to him. ]

We could find the edge or - [ something catches her eye in the distance; it looks like some kind of farm, but it's the enclosure that matters to her. ] maybe we could get over that fence?

	I noticed. And they used a fence. In Marina when they don't want us getting into something there's usually a wall complete with shielding. [So that's...interesting. [ she nods, less about his observation about marina, and more about how he's agreeing is a bit of an odd sock. she hesitates only for a moment - she doesn't want to put him or them both in a dangerous situation either, but how else are they going to learn anything?

[ this is the face of a woman who is used to and a mite tired of men and women and vampires and hybrids who don't want to put her in harm's way, as if it's not only her choice but theirs. it's a feeling tempered by knowing he cares, and being able to relate to that protective streak. her lips purse and she lets out an exhale through her nose. (she's still determined.) ] Fine, but one of us can find a way to get a better look later. [ this is a compromising but resolved face. she lets go of his hand to walk past him, towards some end to the dome - plan b instead. ]
