Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[ color her more impressed. ] I'm glad. [ wait, how does that sound? ] I mean, I'm not glad you or anyone else was taken or hurt, but I'm glad you got away. [ (the sentiment rings true, but elena also wouldn't judge helen for killing anybody in that kind of situation, if it had to happen.) elena's been taken more times than she can count. the most conscious example she has right now is when rose and trevor did to hand her over to elijah. she doesn't know how helen felt about her captors, but now rose is her friend, and trevor... she understands why they did what they did, at least.

she's understood every time, klaus and rebekah on senior prank night included, but she hasn't agreed with the reasonings once obviously.

[ she understands what elena's trying to say. killing people wasn't really on her agenda, but as they hadn't taken her warning and continued to be very stupid about the whole situation, she'd had no real choice. honestly, the only ones she'd intended to kill -- and only because it was the only alternative that wouldn't get everyone else killed with them -- had been the two she and charlotte had tricked and blown up in the plane. the others had died because of their own stupidity. ]

A simple case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. [ a blatant lie, but she's going with it. it isn't as though anyone else knows. ] They wanted money and we were there to provide it. From my understanding, it only got really serious after I escaped and started putting the pressure on them. [ she gives a kind of amused look that was half smirk and half disbelief. ] Think they might've been afraid of me for some reason.

[ a woman whose name they weren't familiar with, whose plane had blown up two of their number, and who was running around undermining whatever they were trying to do. if they had known her name, she's certain they wouldn't have dared tangle with her. ]
