Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

Rogue isn't happy to have been transfered at all. She doesn't care about the lack of amenities. What she does care about is that her gloves didn't come with her in the transfer and she's not sure where her friends are. She'd lost so many of them when they transferred prisons the first time and she's afraid this will be like that time. She knows the anklet is supposed to keep her powers at bay, so there's no real concern about her gloves. It's more that she misses them because they're familiar.

She sees Oz watching from afar and her breath catches in her throat. She's not quite running, but she is hurrying over to him.

"Oz. You all right? I was worried 'bout you, Sugar."

Rogue is a welcome sight. But Oz barely moves or emotes as she comes closer. He's having the same problem too. The anklet keeping the wolf at bay, but that doesn't make him feel like he can let his guard down or relax at all. His eyes do light up a bit when she comes over to him though.

"It's different." His voice is a little tighter than normal if just because he can feel the wolf scratching at the surface and the anklet has him not knowing how much he has to fight to keep it inside right now. Maybe he doesn't have to fight at all. How does it feel not to fight with a monster? He's suddenly curious. "Can't quite say how I am... yet. You? You look safe. Glove-less."

She can't help but notice how tight and controlled his voice is. She assumes he's having problems controlling the wolf, even if it is psychological. Honestly, she's not sure how that even works with the anklet. It's not quite like her mutation.

His curiosity and observation brings a smile to her face. "I ain't sure how I like it. You wanna test it out and see if the anklet really does suppress it all?"

Back home, she's made a conscious decision to keep her power despite the complications it brings. It's a part of her. She doesn't like having that part of her taken away without her knowledge and permission. Oz is one of the few people she'd be willing to 'test' the anklet's efficiency with.

He hesitates for a moment, not because he doesn't want to test it out. He does. He's just been keeping to himself so much lately that her coming closer to him is making him a little nervous. She's within attack distance should the wolf make its way out.

But then again, she's Rogue. And she's offering touch, which he both likes and knows she doesn't get to do very often. "That would mean touching. You. Touching of the you. I'm pro testing it out." He glances down to the floor in front of him, a silent invitation to have a seat with him.

	This is why Rogue is against him keeping to himself. It doesn't seem to help, but hurt rather. She hesitantly takes a seat next to him. "It would. I mean if you're okay with that..." she's not sure how to take his practical ramble about touching her. "If you're not, it's okay. Ain't like I'm goin' to go 'round huggin' people at random anyhow." 	Oz looks down to her hand and draws in a deep breath before reaching out to hold her hand. Before their skin makes contact, his gaze lifts back to hold her gaze. Then he presses their palms together and their fingers lace. Nothing happens and he slowly exhales, his eyes shifting from hard and worried to soft in a matter of seconds. "Gladness." Rogue is equally as worried; her entire body tense with it. She's not sure if it makes this easier or harder the way his gaze catches hers, like he's trusting her. She takes a quick breath, holding it for a moment, until their hands touch, fingers lacing, until she sees that shift in his eyes. She knows almost before he does that nothing is happening; there's no rush of life, of power, but she's touched him before, she's drained life and power off him before; that is not the concern. She is more concerned with his reaction to this nothing.

She smiles at the shift in his eyes, his commentary and nods. "Guess I'm safe." Her brow furrows a bit. "That's just odd...I'm so used to wearin' gloves and worryin'. I ain't...I ain't sure how I like it." She pauses a moment. "That make any sense to you?"

	Once she smiles, a corner of his lips tugs upward. It's an almost unnoticeable movement in his features, but there nonetheless. "Lots of sense. Whatever it is is blocking out the wolf and I'm... She only hesitates a moment, still looking at their hands, before she shakes her head. Her response when she finally speaks is very quiet.

"No."

And she's not sure what that means. maybe she just wants to touch someone that feels 'safe' and Oz is that, or maybe she likes Oz, and she's not sure how she feels about that. A relationship with her is doomed. There's so much she'll never be able to do that people in a normal relationship expect.

	Rogue would feel a lot more guilty about the whole thing if she knew he had a wife and a child at home. As it is, she's pretty content with things right now. "Yeah, really good. Weird. Different." He's not sure if he likes it. Because he's still wary of the technology failing, wary of the wolf breaking out. And in this confined space -- that would be catastrophic. At least in Marina there had been room to run.

"Right now is the best you can hope for, you know. Look at us holding hands and nothing happening. I won't let go."

It's a concern of hers as well, though perhaps a slightly smaller concern than his as she can always just not touch people.
