Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[ worrying about where everyone has been this morning and if they're okay is easier than thinking about how powerless elena feels here too. it's easier than acknowledging how she's almost relieved to see rebekah too. that it nearly comforts her. ]

Same. [ she looks over her shoulder for someone. ] Have you got your rations yet? [ not that elena finds that important, or her tone conveys that either - more like the opposite. but the contents are telling about their wardens. ]

[ elena spares rebekah another look at her comment about rations doing her good. she did see nikola receiving blood, so she might be wrong about that.

of course that question's not about concern. ] I don't think we can trust much around anywhere. It seems just like another prison, only... different. [ stricter. smaller. unknown.

and because not concern: ] I saw someone get a ration of blood earlier.

[ she hasn't. she noticed the ankle bracelets, and she's suspected - now she looks down at rebekah's ankle and nods. trust or not, it's still good to know. ] I wonder if it'll stay like that. [ there's concern there. it's not necessarily for rebekah (she can imagine how helpless that makes someone feel, has witnessed and heard about it from others) but it's in general. at marina, they've fallen off in a day or two. here... ]

	I have no idea. [Which makes Rebekah incredibly nervous, in more than one way. In Marina they went away after the first day -- but here? Who knew how long it would last? [ it's another question to ask. elena's lips purse and she nods. she's not sure what else there is to say, and in the pause the sounds of other speaking and moving fill the silence up. things with rebekah have been different and the same in varying degrees, and lately there's always a moment or two she's not sure how to respond. ]

We can wait for rations together and then go find a kiosk.
