Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[Add "sluggish" and "power drained" to "already barely able to stay awake" and you've got one (1) extremely useless vampire Queen. Saya had still been a few days from hibernation when the tentacle emergency went down, but now? She's got hours.]

[It takes her one of them to climb out of the top bunk she found herself in, step by slow step, and then another fifteen minutes to pick herself off the floor.]

[Vast effort gets her out into the corridor, but only a few dozen steps of progress happen before she slides down the wall to slump in an uncomfortable-looking sit on the floor.]

[Help?]

Saya...?

[Alarm. Yuuki's recently only awoken from her own room, down the hall. Her hair is long again, a bit of a mess and out grown. Whatever her appearance, though Saya clearly looks worse, slumped upon the ground in onl a position she's sure a cat could be comfortable in.]

Saya...!

[Rushing over to her, arms move to help prop her up, checking for her pulse and alighting to her cheek to feel for a fever or sign of illness.]

Saya, wake up!

[She shakes her head, though. That's not important. Honestly, the state of her hair is the last thing she's worried about. Settling down next to her on her knees, she studies her friend for a moment.

She's falling into that slumber, she's been told about. It's sad. She doesn't want to see her friend fall asleep and not wake back up. Although time stands still for Yuuki, things can always change over the course of time. Who knows where they will be when that day comes again?]

Mm. [She can't even manage to get worked up about the possibility, which she only dimly recognizes, that Hei may not be here with them.]

[Standing up, Saya wavers on her feet but focuses enough to at least balance herself. She's not only sleepy, but completely drained of strength.]

I'm not hungry. [That, above all else, should indicate how very serious this is.]

[ it may have been pure concidence that had Hei in the corridor right when Saya collapsed. It may have been simple luck, but that did not stop Hei from rushing to her side, easing an arm around her shoulders as he glanced around for help.

[ and he knew exactly which bed she had crawled out from. He had found her earlier, but she had been sleeping so peacefully, he had not the heart to wake her. No, he had prepared breakfast instead, now growing cold in the kitchen. This was far more important after all. ]

You must have fallen asleep. The transition to a new prison seems to have ill effects on everyone.
