Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

You remember the coup I told you about? During a part of it, we all blacked out only to come to in our own beds. The dome was... different. All dark and everyone who wasn't in the group that came with Sentience could be found in their own beds, sleeping. Unable to wake up.

I had the same kind of sensation then as we did this morning... that sort of tingly, sluggish feeling. Like your skin's fallen asleep.

Something like that — and I don't think that's the way it works. I mean, I'm not even sure if I'm right but if we really did just wake up then these have to be our real bodies. Anything from back there was just... in our minds. Not physical. Whatever happened to MarinaNova, we weren't actually there to experience it.

[ He pauses for a short beat, worrying his bottom lip. Really, he'd like something more to back this up before jumping to conclusions but there isn't any and the thought of Morgan and Hotch... or even Emily who he hasn't seen here yet. It makes it hard to do much of anything. ]

They stored us. It was important to keep us alive. Just because they're not here, that doesn't mean they're not safe.

	No, no... I mean, I don't know but it doesn't seem likely. [ Human batteries... let's not go there just yet. ] It could be something as simple as practicality. It doesn't explain why they're making us believe that we're awake, but it is easier to keep up maintenance if we're not up and about... There's still too much we don't know. It explains a lot of things. [ Like Tobias. People disappearing without a trace. All the other unexplainable things. ]

I don't know if there's anything we can do... aside from gathering information and trying to confirm it. [ A beat. ] Garcia, this needs to stay between the two of us. Kitty and Rebecca knows, but other than that... we have to keep it quiet. At least for now. You know what'll happen if this comes out.

[Being third on the list sort of hurts, but she's... getting used to it? Which is what makes her sadder than anything. With Reid doing his couple-plus-others thing, it feels like she's not only Derek-less but really alone.]

[Not that she begrudges him, even a little. But she can't deny that there's a pang.]

Okay, Reid. And I know historically I keep secrets about as well as a leaky sieve, but this one I swear is locked up tight. You can totally trust me with this one. The last thing we need is a panic.
