TIME UPDATE

DATE: Saturday, June 20, 2009.

WEATHER: Cloudy but dry.

EVENTS: Things are surprisingly calm, and the news is pretty much still dominated by familiar-related stories. Animals are still journeying all over the place, but it's not nearly as bad as it was two days ago. An interesting story popping up is regarding whether or not landlords who don't allow pets will have the right to evict tenants now with familiars. There's no word on whether or not any local landlords are considering this, but The Court apartments have any pets other than a single housecat forbidden in their leases. If landlords can deny tenants with familiars, does this count as discrimination?

Naturally, even this is becoming a political debate. Human rights activists pretty much feel that animals are animals, and if we start bending the rules for them, God knows what else the supes will try to get away with! And some of these animals are dangerous! Supposed 'human intelligence' be damned. Of course, supernatural rights are using human intelligence as their greatest argument. Familiars are much more than simple animals, they understand rules as well as any human (er, human-shaped being) does. A lot of familiars even know how to fend for themselves and require very little care from their chosen.

If you have something you feel warrants a mention in the next time update, please let the mods know!
