Behind an innocent disguise

Who: Dagmar, Kajsa, Oz and Slipper (NPC)
Where: River outside --> Niemi house
When: Directly after this

Oz knew that he was healing well, he was a were of course he was, but that did not mean that it hurt any less. The last thing that he wanted to do was go home and have someone see. With a family as big as his the chances of the house being empty were slim to none and all of them would be way too happy to rat him out to their mother for getting into a fight. Last thing he needed on top of his lovely meeting with Dagmar's big brother was to have his ear chewed off by his mother before she tried to make him apologize. Because the Niemi's were friends of the family and if he could get along with one of them then he should be able to get along with all of them. Not the one who uses blood to do god knows what to me.

So he remained curled up on the bank in his otter form, licking at his wounds - literally - and hoping that Leif and his damned bird would not come back because he did not want to deal with them again. Next time he might do more than hit him in his pale, pointed face and just deal with the consequenes. Provided the bird did not literally rip him a new one. Why did he have to be part of a tribe where headdresses were not the in thing? Seriously, no fair.

Who: Dagmar and Ronnie
What: Some butt-kicking
When: Early-evening
Where: Street corner

Ronnie was done crying. She wasn't going to let that Demon get to her anymore. That's what it had wanted, to hurt her and leave her defenceless. Well, they'd underestimated Ronnie and they'd underestimated the Lord Above. Ronnie was not going to roll over and let these creatures take over God's Beautiful Earth.

After finishing her conversation with her parents (and crying a bit more), Ronnie had gotten out her trusty markers and a big, white slab of cardboard and started making herself some signs. She settled on a line of "Love is for humans. Not monsters", as she felt that quite fitting for the situation.

Not that she'd loved Bianca, or anything like that. She hadn't felt anything for that devil. That thing that tried so hard to hurt her... Focus, Ronnie, focus. Anyways, she'd gotten a sign, printed off a few pamphlets to be handed out (Are you aware of the Demon that lives next door?) and set out for a hard night's work. Without looking too much, she'd found a suitable street corner where she could share her message for the world.

Ronnie wouldn't let her Saviour down.

Nobody ever learns

Who: Charlene and Dagmar
Where: Redleaf Lake
When: Late evening

Being back from the ocean was, without a doubt, depressing. Once Roxy had left to return to that life she had to live Charlene had been left in the river, staring at the partially still-together walls of the sunken ship she resided in. And beyond them was the surface, a shade more green than blue that only served to remind her of where she was. Where she was not. Poking her head out of the ship, restless because sleeping had not been happening so well the past few nights, she had sighed at the sight of the riverbank walls. No, tonight she could not stay there again. Relearning alone was one thing but cramped? No, not tonight. The lake was a little bigger, a little deeper, perhaps she could fool herself when she was there and hope that the other merfolk who might live there would not take offense. Last thing that she wanted was to have any sort of fight. Maybe tomorrow when she had slept and was better off.

Even Redleaf Lake was not enough for her that night. Floating along the surface, Charlene dipped her hands down to pull up a few long strands of seaweed - why do they even call it the same? It's not the same! It tastes so different and the texture is abhorrent and the smell... she hated the smell most - and began to braid them together. Perhaps a little session of arts and crafts would help to lull her off. The fact that she was floating on the surface of a lake in the same general area where a hunter had tried to kill her not too terribly long ago, her side aching just at the flicker of a memory, bothered her not at all. She doubted that something like that would happen twice. It was so late at night and humans did sleep.

Hate is a strong word but I really really really don't like you

Who: Bradley and Dagmar
Where: The Owl's Nest
When: Evening

It wasn't a normal day, even for her. Dagmar had woken up with a tender head after the previous night's antics with Zach and, while she had wanted to do nothing more than lay in bed and watch a movie or something, she had been encouraged to leave. Not even just encouraged, but practically pushed out. So the water elemental had grabbed herself a bottle of water and driven her car off a ways before curling up in the backseat to go back to sleep. When she'd woken up it was near twilight and, instead of returning home, she had remembered something she wanted to do. After reading her mother's diary (an old habit she really needed to get over) she had decided that she needed to have a little chat with someone.

Parking her car, Dagmar climbed out at the Owl's Nest and walked inside. Luck was with her because she saw a familiar figure sitting at the bar with a plate of food in front of him. Good, she didn't have to get a waitress to retrieve him or any of that. "Hello Mr. Krasner," Dagmar said as she took the stool next to his, turning to face him. No preambling from her, not after she had spent most of the day in her car sleeping off a hangover. "Got a question for you. Why were you at my house alone with my mom the other day? Not really the sort of thing you're supposed to do with a married woman, you know." Her eyes were sharp. Dagmar didn't like her father, hated him actually, but that didn't mean that things like this were supposed to happen. Just because her father was a jackass didn't mean that her mother had to be a cheating whore. Yes, that was how Dagmar thought of it. And Bradley was, in her mind, the enabler.

Help Me Find Simplicity

Who: Dagmar and Kai
Where: Denny's
When: Bit after 10 p.m.

Dagmar was late. Okay, she didn't make running late a habit or anything and she'd texted to let Kai know that she was late but she was still a little on edge. The fact that she didn't have Slipper with her didn't help any either. Rubbing at her eyes as she climbed out of the car, Dagmar tugged at her shirt until it looked like she hadn't just been curled up in a bed and walked into the Denny's. It didn't take long to spot Kai and she walked over to drop into the booth. Oh good, her salad wasn't there yet. Or Kai had eaten it already.

"Please tell me that you didn't eat my salad," Dagmar said by way of greeting, raising an eyebrow at the other girl. Hello wasn't exactly necessary anyhow. She was fully expecting to get some sort of lecture or something. Kai knew where she'd been and Dagmar was fully aware of Kai's stand on her relationship with Bren. First off, water elementals weren't supposed to get along with fire elementals (and didn't, Dagmar couldn't say that her and Bren got along more than half the time). Second off, they definitely weren't supposed to have crushes. And third off, Bren and Kai didn't like each other because Kai couldn't stand fire elementals. Sort of like she was a water elemental herself, only she wasn't. Dagmar would have known if she was. "And if you're going to lecture me then just try not to do that whole screaming or I'll scream back and then they'll kick us out and it'll be a hassle I really don't want tonight. Deal? Deal." That was babbling... well, for Dagmar it was. She really was on edge.

Like Fire and Water

Who: Bailey and Dagmar
Where: Ink Inc.
When: Afternoon

Dagmar hated days like these. When everything that she'd done over the last week caught up to her along with her mother's teaching and her mother's behavior and all she wanted to do was curl up in a ball and be left alone. Not that anyone ever did. Satu had been running around, Valterri had been playing his music and of course her mother was having company. That thing she wasn't sure what to call with Bradley from the Owl's Nest. Dagmar didn't exactly approve but nor could she stir up the energy to inform them of such. Instead she decided that she was going to try to cheer herself up. Secluding herself wasn't helping, not that it ever did, and wallowing in depression wasn't going to make it better. Decided, she rolled out of bed and pulled on a simple outfit of shorts and a t-shirt before grabbing her shades and heading out.

She parked her car on a semi-busy street, fed the meter and walked into a place she had never been in. The reason she'd never been in was because she knew that it would send her mother right through the roof. Normally she didn't want to upset her because she had so many problems, but if it helped her mood... well, then it was definitely time for Dagmar to get a tattoo. She even knew what she wanted so how hard could it be and how much could it hurt? "Hi," she remarked to the person at the counter. "Do you have any openings for a tattoo for, like now?"

Please Tell Me That You're Alright

Who: Bren, Dagmar and Slipper (NPC)
Where: Niemi household
When: Late evening

Sundays sucked.

Any day that started with a family meal was going to suck and that meant all Sundays fell into that category when Dagmar was at home. Even hungover her mother'd drag her out of bed. But, amazingly, breakfast hadn't even been the worst part of the day. The worst part had come when she'd reached the river with her mother and Satu and her mother had told them about Kajsa. Like things weren't bad enough without her sister being in a coma. Getting home had meant Linnea could do what she wanted and her daughters were left to do the same. Which meant, for Dagmar, absolutely nothing. Not even Slipper's antics could cheer her up as she curled on her bed, staring miserably at her phone and the wall, arms wrapped around her body pillow.

Sleeping would've been nice. If she could fall asleep. But her eyes wouldn't stay closed and kept popping open to check the time. Slipper kept popping his head up. You're starting to depress me, the otter informed her, chirping before hopping up on the bed. Which was impressive because Slipper was the cheeriest thing Dagmar'd ever met, so why he was her familiar was anyone's guess. If there was anyone who knew how to do depressed then it was Dagmar. Mostly because she'd learned from the very best; her mother. Tugging at her swimsuit top, Dagmar rolled onto her side and scratched the top of her familiar's head. "Sorry Slip."
