DATE: Wednesday, August 5, 2009.
BIRTHDAYS: None
WEATHER: Still pouring through-out the morning, but it actually slows to a drizzle in the afternoon! Hurray!
EVENTS: Those who evacuated due to flooding will still be in shelters today, but at least the rain is letting up. Tomorrow’s full moon promises to be a very muddy one, but at least the rain will have finally stopped! All planned events are still on.
There is still drama revolving around the air elemental debate, but at current, city officials still are not doing anything to ask for help of local elemental masters. At this point, water and earth elementals would be a greater service to help out with the flooding – but without backing from the city, a few caring individuals won’t be able to make much of a dent in the problem areas.
Dominating local news today is, sadly, a confirmed vampire attack – just when things were starting to seem almost normal again! A married couple and their eight-year-old daughter were attacked outside of a pharmacy in Ann Arbor by a vampire. Shortly after the assault began, another vampire joined the fray and took the child. Later, about five miles away in an alley, the remains were found of one vampire and of the child. The vampire was mostly decapitated, and sadly, the young girl’s neck was broken. Curiously, the local medical examiner confirms that the child was
not fed upon. There are no puncture wounds on the body – though the mother, who survived the attack, was bitten. Forensics will be attempting to determine what house the dead vampire was from.
