I'd Rather Be Baking

Who: Kristen and Kyle
When: Night
Where: Peloe Household

It was another one of those nights when Missy went out for one of her 'walks' that took hours and hours and Kristen was left with a baby-sitter. Last night had been better when she'd just stayed at home for a nice dinner. Expecting that two days in a row? After the conversation they'd had that morning? Yeah, Kristen knew better. But it didn't mean she wasn't just a little disappointed. She was afraid of the dark and didn't like Missy wandering around in it either, bad feelings or not. Not that she had any bad feeling so Missy would be fine... but still.

The little blonde sat at the kitchen table, legs swinging under her chair as she tried to draw. It wasn't working too well because she couldn't focus, her mind flitting off to wonder about Missy and then Nikita and then why they didn't get along as well as she'd thought they would. "Kyle," she called, propping her chin in her hand. "Can we bake something? I don't feel much like drawing." Kyle was always good to have over if she wanted to play around in the kitchen or get help with her art, but right then baking sounded a lot more fun than drawing.

Stop calling, stop calling. I don't want to think anymore.

Who: Cameron and Lex
Where: Over the phone, each at their respective place
When: Afternoon

Lex was starting to become the running joke around Ad Gustum with the horrible limp in his left leg. One of the girls even thought it was a brilliant idea to leave a cane in his quarters with a note attached saying that, you know, maybe the old vampire could use it to make things better. Yeah, Lex wasn't amused. He could do the whole House impression without a cane, thank you very much. Though at least it wasn't as bad as Monday night. He had returned from Jezebelle's place in massive pain, barely able to walk. Damn bitch was so stupid to think it was a good idea to stab him in the leg with a silver spike. They were fellow Shades! And he was her superior! Fucking woman would pay for that.

While he contemplated on turning her into the elders, Lex had to calm down and focus on himself and healing properly. By the time he returned to Ad Gustum that night, it was too late for earth elemental blood to help him out completely. All it did was make the throbbing sensation less painful. Now he had to rely on his natural healing and some doses of said blood on and off to help with the process. Until then, he was limping around like a Vietnam vet.

Sulking in his quarters, Lex sat on his desk wearing only a pair of baggy pants. Anything tight made the pain worse. He was in the process of re-bandaging the wound, grumbling to himself that the psychobitch would pay for it. Maybe he wouldn't take this to the elders and instead handle it on his own. Either way, he wanted to see the stupid girl suffer immensely for what she did. With that done, he curled up into the chest nearby for some much needed rest. It was the only way he was going to heal up, after all, though he had forgotten to turn his cellphone on the desk off in the process.

Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

Who: Cedric, Ravyn and Calista
Where: The Girnwoods' townhouse
What: Meeting the sister, proving a point
When: Evening

He'd enjoyed bumping into Kiley earlier in the day and that put him in a good mood. He was looking forward to dinner with Calista, still unsure of what it meant but he would take it as it comes. Cedric wasn't the best at that, but he was going to try. At least, for a little while. So he was dressed in a clean pair of jeans and blue button down, the sleeves rolled up, ready to go out. But first, she was going to be coming to the house. He had mentioned in passing people to his sister that Ravyn seemed to believe were people he'd made up. Seeing as people didn't often come to the house, and not because he had anything to hide, it was somewhat understandable why she believed that. So this was step one to proving he had a life outside the hospital. Step two would be the barbecue.

Sitting in the kitchen, he was making a list of what he'd need to get in the days to come, glad that he could convince Kiley to come. He would extend the invitation to Calista as well, though he thought he remembered her saying something about having plans. Not being sure, he wasn't going to be rude and not ask the girl to come along. It was going to be pretty open. Puck was sitting lazily near by and Balin was batting at something, sensing the there were things on Cedric's mind. Not that he was about to discuss them out loud with his sister in the house. Sighing softly, he glanced at his phone to check the time, hoping that Calista would find the place okay.

The doors close and it comes to an end

Who: Darcy and Chase
Where: His office
When: Morning
What: A massage

After her doctor had last seen her, he'd set up an appointment for her to get a massage. He said it would loosen her muscles. She was lucky she wasn't going to need much physical therapy. That was the good news. Bad news was that it would still take some time to heal. She could work soon, which was good. Someone had been around to clean up the office and she was grateful for it. It meant she'd be able to start her job at the dojo the next week. Troy had been so kind and understanding. Apparently he and his sister, whom she hadn't met, had been attacked by demons too.

The other bad news was the end of her relationship with Austin. It had been really nice at his house, spending time with him and his adorable little girl. But there were moments were it got too intense and she wasn't sure she was ready for it. Breaking up hadn't really been her intention, but they had been moving entirely too fast. It scared her and she wasn't ready. She needed something slower, especially now that she had to get her life in order.

So she entered the office and filled out the paperwork, always on time and her penmanship perfect. The receptionist ushered her into a room and handed her a soft robe, directing her to undress, leaving her clothes on a stool on the other side of the folding partition. The office seemed nice and she was hoping this would relax her. She hadn't slept much the night before. Not having someone next to her was something she'd have to get used to again. Sitting on the table, she waited for her masseuse, wondering who he or she would be.

First you reel me out and then you cut the string

Who: Emme and OPEN
Where: Heme
When: Evening
What: Just out and about

Heme. It was a place Emme had yet to visit. It wasn't that she didn't want to go to the bar. Far from it. But she had spent a great deal of time settling into her new place and getting used to the swing of things. Plus there was the fact that she had made friends with Adam, an author she actually enjoyed and was looking forward to stopping in on his class every once in a while. And they didn't just talk about writing, which was also really nice. It felt good to have a friend.

She dressed to go out: long, flowy dark colored skirt and a tank top, her curls piled on top of her head. She looked artsy but that wasn't really her intention. Still, Emme didn't mind. What people thought of her was of little concern. The atmosphere of the bar suited her and she ordered a drink, her favorite type and found herself a place to sit and people watch. It was her favorite hobby and often times ended up in one of her books.

We Love the Rain Most

Who: Aetheria, Aurora & Silvia
Where: Ad Gustum
When: Morning

Silvia was definitely going to get used to all of this pampering. She'd only been with the twins for a couple of days but it was pretty much exactly what she'd been after when she had set her kitty self down in front of the humane shelter. Aetheria and Aurora had bought her so many toys she couldn't possibly play with them all in one day (and she'd tried, oh she'd tried) without passing out in one of the fluffy little beds. Though she definitely preferred curling up on one or the other of the twins. Sleeping between them hadn't worked so well since they liked sleeping next to each other, but she'd figured out that if she stretched she could be on both.

Though that owl... Silvia wasn't sure how she felt about the owl that apparently belonged to the Aurora-twin. So when she woke up to find it blinking at her, the patter of rain sounding frm the window behind it, she showed her little teeth in a supposed-to-be-fierce manner before swishing her tail and turning to bat at the fact of whichever twin she was laying on now. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference between the two unless one was speaking. Because, well, only one of them actually spoke like only one of them could actually see. Whichever one it was, she'd get up and feed her, Silvia's little stomach was growling.

I Want Candy (Not Really)

Who: Alanna and Otter
Where: Snow White Sweets
When: 1:00 p.m.

Back to work. Okay, so he'd gone back before but this was the first time back since the thing in the alley that Otter didn't feel like half-heartedly making things. He actually wanted his cookies to be frosted right and his cakes to not be lopsided. Or his mother wanted that and had informed him of such with a smack upside the back of his head and that no-nonsense tone in her voice when she'd told him that he needed to shape up or else he wasn't going to be working until he did. Sure that'd give him more time in his garden to make sure it was in the best health ever, but it'd also mean less money. And he was a teenage boy, he could think of plenty of things to spend that money on.

Not like business was booming or anything. And Otter was definitely blaming it on the rain. Sitala wasn't arguing the point either, she hated being out in the rain and couldn't understand anyone who would like it. Maybe the mermaid. Or a water elemental... no one with sense. Otter snickered at the thought as he stepped up to refill the only thing that'd been selling all day; sugar-free wintergreens. Yeah, an old woman had stopped by to restock her evidently not endless supply.

It's tragic when first love dies

Who: Nell and Fable
When: Noonish
Where: Torte de Angeli

Since she'd pulled herself out of her emotional rut a couple days ago, Nell had maintained an active life. The lessons she had cancelled were back on, her violin was no longer collecting dust and she was eating, more over she was starving nearly all the time. She'd ate so little the previous week it seemed her appetite had come back full force and was now demanding pastries of various variety. Sneaking a peak outside, Nell dressed in a simple black skirt, white camisole and a baggy, comfortable sweater before grabbing her umbrella and skipping out into the rain. She didn't mind the light drizzle so much, but after a while it could start to get itchy and annoying. Nell planned on walking to the bakery, just so she wasn't home so quickly and so she could enjoy the outdoors, it seemed like it had been so long since she'd spent time outside.

Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time

Who: Tobias Davidson and Mark Gardner
Where: Tobias' house to start
When: Early evening until god knows when XD
What: I believe the only proper phrase to use here is, "Boys will be boys."

One would think that, with what he'd been through and a 15-year-old son at home, Tobias would have gotten most of that out of his system by now. But then again, he had a friend like Mark, and Tobias never knew quite what to expect from him. )

So reel me in my precious girl, c'mon take me home

Who: Adara, Calista, and Jace
Where: The girls' apartment
When: Mid-day, about lunchtime
Why: Because Jace could hardly stay away from this apartment

Following the directions Calista had given him had been something of a challenge. Primarily because rather than street names she preferred to use landmarks, landmarks which consisted of things like "funny mailbox" and "silly shaped rock". Still, the directions couldn't have been too bad considering that he'd arrived there without nearly as much difficulty as he thought he would. He really liked walking through his old streets, not that he'd lived in this particular part of town when he was younger, but it was still Scarlet Oak, his home town. Walking along Quinn had poked his head out of Jace's bag, nose twitching he asked, "This is the house of that sweet girl you so callously treated the other day correct?" With a grumble Jace frowned and replied, "I didn't treat her callously, I just didn't want to be all...clingy. Now shut up or I'm zipping up the bag and you can get comfy with my socks."

The rabbit shot him a look and then stared forward silently. It was impossible arguing with him, Jace knew he'd been something of a jerk and that he really should have called, but what could he do? He just got back here and already he was enamored with the innocent girl that baked him nothing less than a metric ton of delicacies the other day. Still, even Jace wasn't oblivious to the trail of broken hearts he tended to leave behind, it would probably be best for all if he didn't get her involved in something like that. As he thought about how badly he could use a drink, Quinn let out a shrill little squeak to dispel that thought almost immediately.

Heading up to the door with bag in one hand, and a box in the other, he rapped lightly on the door. The box in his right hand contained a cake he'd baked for Calista. She'd gone through all that trouble for him, it was the least he could do...he even refused to let Isaiah help him. This, of course, resulted in a baked good that looked like a horror story. It probably tasted worse than it looked, but it was the first thing Jace had ever attempted to bake in his life and he was proud of it. Refusing to allow himself to think too much about the motives behind his attempt at baking, he stood there and whistled for someone to open the door.

second date noms!

Who: Aaron and Alanna
When: 7pm
Where: Aaron's House

So Aaron wasn't sure what in the world has possessed him to offer to cook for Alanna. He wasn't the handiest in the kitchen, not bad by far, just not the best. So, he did what any rational human would do. He turned to the internet. He found what he wanted and sent a prayer of thanks up to the heavens for the interwebs. After spending the afternoon/early evening preparing food, he realized he needed to get dressed. He showered but didn't shaving, leaving a bit of stubble. He dressed in creased black pants and a navy blue button down shirt. He looked dressy but casual all at the same time. Once he was finished, he hurried to finish cooking before Alanna arrived. In all of his preparation he had kept himself busy enough to not be too nervous.

Familiar Fiasco

Who: Erin, Trenton and Langston and NPC elemental and familiar mentions
When: Morning
Where: A little over fifteen miles southwest of the packlands
Warning: Slight warning for violent type things

The night had been fun for him, even if it had been work. He'd been hired to off an elemental for a man who'd heard about him through a mutual acquaintance and money was always good so he jumped at the chance to make a little of it. The job was even more entertaining than he first imagined it would be as he found that not only did he get an elemental - a low level one at that - but he got their familiar as well. Thankfully the familiar wasn't difficult to capture, the turtle definitely didn't have much of a chance against a hunter.
