Who: Nic and Avizeh
When: Early evening
Where: the party at the Moriarty house!
Avizeh had been rather stunned to get an invitation to a party at the Moriarty house, considering it arrived within days after she herself got to Scarlet Oak. Apparently her upcoming film was generating more buzz than she thought. She had very nearly declined, cited jet lag or moving exhaustion, but ultimately decided that Bram Moriarty was not a man she wanted to say no to. So she'd bought a
dress, a cascading, Grecian-inspired gown of soft gathered fabric and keyholes in front and back in a deep rosey hue, and geared up for a party. This involved reading up on the young adults it was honoring, and after doing so, she was truly glad she had decided to attend.
Once there, she
truly wished she had dragged her cousin. There was nothing worse than being at a party full of strangers - and in a strange land, at that. Once inside, Avizeh put on a brave face, and began making her rounds around the room.
Nic wasn't entirely sure what he was doing at the party. As a member of the Scarlet Oak police force, he'd been invited, even though he'd done little to actually track the children down. Since he wasn't on duty that evening, he'd been required to attend, which left him feeling a bit like he should receive some kind of overtime pay. Socializing with the big wigs in town had never been on his agenda. At least there was free liquor, otherwise he might have been halfway out the door upon arrival.
With one drink down and another in his hand, Nic was feeling a bit more relaxed and willing to talk to some of the faces that surrounded him. Least threatening was a woman standing alone, and Nic decided to stop by and say hello. She seemed familiar, though he couldn't say where from. "Evening," he said with a little nod. "Enjoying the party?"
( And a refreshing outlook. )
