TIME UPDATE

DATE: Monday, September 7, 2009.

BIRTHDAYS: None.

WEATHER: No changes.

EVENTS: Legionary demons are still a problem at the bomb site, despite beefed up security and around-the-clock presence of the National Guard. It seems for every large chunk of rubble removed, a few more corpse-munchers pop up. That’s going to slow things down significantly.

Many Ann Arbor public schools – including those of Scarlet Oak – are taking the morning to hold ‘peace assemblies.’ Basically the students are getting out of their morning classes to spend the day in auditoriums, listening to speeches about acceptance and unity, and later suggesting ways to better their community. Not a lot comes from it, but SOHS will be planting trees around campus for every student lost in the bombing. Scarlet Oak Middle School will be hosting a bake sale starting Wednesday and lasting through Friday, with all profits going to the local red cross. Scarlet Oak Elementary School students are all being asked to create an art project of their choosing, and on Thursday there will be a field trip to the U of M hospital to give their pieces to patients injured in the bombings.

If you have something you feel warrants a mention in the next time update, please let the mods know!
