One of us! One of us!

Who: Kinah, Karine, a couple NPCs and a Legionary of Deumos
Where: The streets of Philadelphia Scarlet Oak
When: At around 11pm

It was so like Kinah to be out and about when all outlets warned against doing so. In fact, it was why she was doing it. She had never seen a demon in her life, and she sure would like to. She wondered if she'd feel any sort of affinity towards it, or if they were as majestic as everyone made them sound. Terrifying was, possibly, the correct word. However, Kinah hardly found anything terrifying anymore.

She stepped out into the night, oddly unarmed for what was usual, wearing a short blue dress and high heels. Quite as though she was calling for danger to befall her, in a way. Except she knew very well she could probably befall danger instead.

It wasn't long before Kinah was hearing screaming at a short distance, probably just a bent corner away. It made her laugh, for some reason. Better them than me, was the general sentiment, which made sense when you thought about it. Still, Kinah was curious enough to take a peek around the aforementioned corner, safely hidden in the shadows. Except, though her vision was quite good, she couldn't really see much. Not because of the lack of lights, obviously, but because she was much too far away still. Whatever it was, it was gory, judging by the screaming. "Good Christ!" She exclaimed at the noise.

Demon Days

Who: Nastasiya and Grayson
Where: Heme
When: Night

Oh, Demons, Demons, Demons. They annoyed Nastasiya in more ways than one, but especially because she wasn't used to - and didn't like - being afraid. For the longest time she was fairly conscious that above vampires there wasn't a lot more to fear. However, after her previous encounter with a corpse-eating demon, which, hard to admit as it was, had only gone well due to the presence of another vampire, Nastasiya came to realize the game had changed. And now they were back, and they couldn't have come back at the worst of times.

Nastasiya had been out of sorts since the last time she had seen Sebastian - for obvious reasons. This only added insult to injury as far as she was concerned, and it was sad that she was considering having some sort of 'recreational blood' to pretend to get drunk. It was also sad that while she had felt like going to Heme, she didn't really feel like leaving. Not because of the humans there in search for protection, obviously, but because she really, really didn't want to encounter a demon again.

Sitting at the VIP section, thanking all the Gods she knew to name that Sebastian Van Cleve wasn't there at the time, Nastasiya wondered what to do next in other to, at least, pass the time in a less boring manner. Worst of all was the notion that she looked as she felt; her acting chops were failing her blatantly at the moment.

Demon in headlights

Who: Jane, Ty and a Legionary of Deumos (NPC)
Where: The road, somewhere just outside Scarlet Oak
When: Nightfall

The demons' timing was impeccable. Just as Jane was planning on getting out of town - and packing for it right now, with the trunk of her car wide open outside her house and the sleeping bag concealing her weapons - they had come back and made everything difficult. From traveling to staying alive, both things Jane needed very much of right now. And always, in the latter case, of course.

With a sigh, Jane resigned to the notion that she would just have to fight the rogue were she was set to protect the town of Canton from. Her sources had said it sounded like a werewolf, but Jane would hold off on identifying it until she saw it. Preferably, already dead. She pulled the trunk door shut with that thought in her mind, and went around to the driver's seat.

Music, water and light snacks in the glove compartment. All three things checked meant Jane was ready for a road trip; and thus, she started driving, on her way out of Scarlet Oak.
