I try to make sure she knows it all year, but it's Mother's Day and I will happily take the excuse to wax poetically about Iris Waters, quite easily among the very best of moms there ever was. Supportive, loving, and always there with advice or just a kind word when needed -- I honestly don't know where I would be today without her. I'm looking forward to smothering her with appreciation and scones (homemade, thank you very much) later on today, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to talk about her beforehand.

I'm also looking forward to next Mother's Day, because while I'm completely supportive of smothering moms-to-be with love, it will be even more fun to give that appreciation to my wife when Baby Waters is here to help me.
