Hi. I bought you guys gifts, but apparently they won't ship until the end of next week and I don't know if I can wait until then to show them to you. So you should let me issue some spoilers, please.

Tomorrow is our first official trivia night at Roll of the Die, so should should definitely come out, if you're into that sort of thing! (Which you should be.) The theme is It's Dangerous To Go Alone: A Nintendo Quiz and I will hopefully be there to read off questions and celebrate with the victors. I don't know if my presence is a draw, but I thought I'd throw that out there. 😉

Good Saturday, all! There is something that I have been sitting on for a while now and am finally feeling like I can address outside of the handful of friends and family I've discussed it with!

As I'm sure it's been heard around town, Mr. Harris, the owner of Roll of the Die, is planning on retiring south to warmer weather around the turn of the new year. Initially he had been planning on simply emptying the building of stock and selling it, but I've bought all of it instead. 🙌

The shop itself will be closed for the months of November and December, with a grand reopening on January 6, 2020. I'm planning on using that time to do some renovations and restructuring inside the building, the bulk of which will be adding a functioning kitchen and seating to turn it into a gaming cafe. There will still be comics and dice and board games (oh my) among everything else nerdy and wonderful for sale as well as weekend gaming tournaments and D&D, but with the added bonus of a full menu.

This is something I've always dreamed of doing, even back when I was in culinary school in New York, so to be able to make it a reality in the town I've fallen in love with is really something special. 💖 Though much of the current staff will be staying from the sounds of it, I will be hiring on some additional people in the kitchen and for waiting tables. I'll have more information to come on that, so stay tuned~

With today being #26, I thought it was as good a day as any to revisit my New Years resolutions to see where I'm at. You're welcome for me making you join me on this fascinating journey.

1. Travel for something other than a convention. Honeymoon in Ireland, you were the best of times. If this year taught me anything, it's that more vacations are needed.

2. Adopt a cat. Tragically, this has not happened yet.

3. Get a membership for the Y and then actually go before my body realizes I'm getting old. I actually did this and while I maybe don't go as religiously as I should given that I'm paying money for said membership, I do go! So I'm taking that as a win. 💪

4. End 2019 with a different last name. Heck yes, I am. I'll have had a different last name for just over half of 2019 when NYE comes.

5. Move. This is complete and even now still floors me. I sort of thought I'd forever rent and while there's nothing wrong with that, being a homeowner has been very cool, too. It helps that our house is amazing and I have the best roommate a girl could ask for.

6. Give Niall more back rubs. He would have to be the judge of this one, I suppose.

Not bad, Eve. Not bad at all. I suppose it does help that some of my goals were things I knew I'd accomplish this year regardless, but it does a lot for morale to add something to your to do list you can immediately cross off. 😉 2019 has been good to me so far and I foresee good things in the remaining months, too.

Anyway, happy Monday to you all! My birthday wish is that everyone has a good last day of September -- and I suppose that can extend into October, too. 🎃

Can I just say that you have definitely found yourself a good one when they not only send you pizza as a way to ask you to the town prom, but they also get it with all your favorite toppings? Because my god, that is the way to my heart.

(Yes, by the way. My answer is yes, duh.)

Thanks to Naomi's brilliant idea, I'm going to put together a resource accessible to anyone dealing with the Dreams that essentially just lists who is being dreamed of and any other pertinent details you might think need to be included for others to identify that they're at least sharing dreams about the world even if they don't know the name. Not to wax nostalgic or anything like that, but it was two years ago this week that you all were graced with the Malone twins joining your citizenry. A lot has happened in two years. Like, a lot. But Dunhaven looks good on us.

Hey. Something work-related has been on my mind a lot recently and I think I need your opinion.

I have never regretted working at this radio station before, but hearing that people are planning and scheduling their vacations that I could only bestow on others and never be able to enjoy myself is causing great distress in my wanderlust heart.

PS: I'm a couple days late on this, but happy one year anniversary of getting cheese fries for the first time with the woman that I didn't know at the time was the love of my life.
