Here goes. I am doing it from work because I am a coward.

so i was looking at promposal ideas so i could be super cheesy and adorable, but instead i got distracted by how certifiably bad some of these things are. i mean, i get that they're teenagers and i was sort of a dumbass when i was a teenager so i really can't talk or judge at all. (okay, i was a super dumbass. i don't think you can claim to be anything else when you were kicked out of five boarding schools between the ages of 12-16.) and honestly, i wasn't super judging until i found this one: ( Cut for image! )

so, okay. despite the fact that person is probably still finding glitter on their person to this day, i'm not sure that we read the same book. i mean, that's up there with romeo to my juliet or heathcliff to my catherine or christ, even tom to my daisy. c'mon, folks. maybe it's time to retake american lit or something.

anyway. tori, will you go to grown up prom with me at the end of the month? i'm asking not because you're an allegory for the american dream, but because you're the literal best there ever was.

WHAT'S UP so i'm off on saturday for the first time in eons and i feel like that means i need a proper night out. like, full on, out of dunhaven, dancing and drinks in dc kind of night out.

It just sort of occurred to me that this month marks 10 years since we came to Dunhaven.

I'm not really sure how I'm meant to feel about that number, to be honest. I'm having similar struggles with other numbers as of late, though, particularly 18 and 38. (I'll admit that the former is a bit more jarring than the latter there.) That being said, moving to Dunhaven was a decision that I questioned every step of the way, even years after settling here. It was something that I needed in some ways, though in other ways it sometimes felt as though I was simply running. I think that was my guilt talking, though. That's what my therapist would say, at least. Ugh, don't say It was good in the end, I hope.

Mm, anyway. You're welcome for this moment of introspection.

today is national absinthe day. just letting y'all know.

okay, i've done some research on jessie's girl and here's what i know.

1. she's originally from chicago and moved here as a kid.
2. she has two dads, one of which teaches at athena.
3. after she graduated high school, she traveled around asia and europe for a while. she actually has a youtube channel with vlogs that have a surprisingly high number of views from when she was traveling.
4. she's open about her dreams and is dreaming about someone from star wars.
5. she apparently went up against the school board with some other people when they tried to change the dress code when she was in high school so people couldn't have unnatural hair color. the admins ended up dropping it.
6. per the yearbook i found at the school library (they need to work on their security tbh), she was in a shit ton of activities in high school.
7. she's studying english right now at the university.
8. she's had a couple speeding tickets.

points in her favor include: having come over and participated in darunia smut fanfiction readings, cool hair, she brought over that leftover sushi that one time, and how jessie makes that heart eyes expression whenever she's around that's downright endearing.

one glass of wine too many has me all ~philosophical~ and crap. has anyone considered that these dreams are just some kind of punishment? like we're in some kind of fucked up mental limbo and that's why we just get to relive the same bullshit we already went through once in our actual lives? because i'm not a religious girl but fuck if that doesn't sound like some kind of divine comedy.
