There are some things that I know to be true, even if I don't say them aloud very often.

My name is Dahlia Liang.

I was born in Almada, Portugal.

I was adopted, and I have no desire to know anything about my life before I became a Liang.

I am a retired US Air Force Staff Sergeant.

I retired from the Air Force because of dream-based visions and PTSD that impaired my ability to fly.

But there are some other things that, even if I've grown accustomed to their truths, I haven't said aloud to more than one person in my life. But I'm trying. And today, perhaps, seems especially apropos for one in particular.

I'm bisexual.

I'm bisexual, and I'm in love with Verity McKinnon.

I'm in love with Verity McKinnon and I'm absolutely going to marry her one day.

I'm dreaming of Sam Wilson.

You know what's a hilarious thought? Me being a politician's wife. I mean, me being a politician's girlfriend is kind of a humorous thought on its own, but here we are.

Anyway, it turns out I'm going to be one, after some time as a politician's fiancée.

Hey, you. How are you?

Today is a most auspicious day, because not only is it that classic weekly holiday of Throwback Thursday on the social medias, but it is also the anniversary of the day my sweet Galadriel came into my life. And so, while this is not Instagram, I'm still using it as a space to show my girl's glow up -- though, let's be quite honest, she was glowing pretty much from the start.

A little background: I adopted Galadriel the January before my first book in my current series was released. I was bartending and one of the waitresses had a cat that had kittens and she was giving them away. Between working at the bar (and waitressing at another restaurant) to pay my rent and trying to meet deadlines on my book, I really didn't see much outside of the room I was renting and it was pretty lonely. So, I took one of the kittens and it ended up being one of my best decisions. I like to think of her as my good luck charm, because I've had some great things happen since she came into my life.

And now I very much would like to see your pets and hear some stories behind them! I'm very much a cat person and have no problem admitting it, but I am accepting of all the rest of the pets out there. Bonus points if you include baby and current pictures.

PS: I would be remiss not to mention Arwen (as for me and my house, we will stan elves of all kinds), so here is a video from literally 45 minutes ago when she decided it was time for Mom to stop working.

It occurs to me that as of next Thursday, I will have been back in Dunhaven for a full year. That just doesn't seem possible.

ANGIE, DAHLIA, STELLA, & TALLY

Just so you guys know, since you're the ones most likely to just show up there, I'm moving out of my apartment and in with Jun. My lease ends at the end of January and I had technically renewed it, but luckily with all the issues with the heating and cooling, they couldn't do much when I said that I wouldn't be paying anything for breaking or going back on my renewal. Lua is already all moved in, but I have until the end of the month to get everything else taken care of.

Also, funny story. He asked me to move in months ago when the cooling went out the second time, but I didn't think he was serious and just went back to my apartment when it was fixed so if you're ever in a situation where you feel like you are the most clueless, you can always be assured that I would probably win that contest.

Jas, Josie, and I bought tickets to go see Angry Birds 2 in theaters specifically to see this short beforehand and honestly, it was completely worth the cost.

Extra love and shoutouts to our dad, Joshua Reed, who took the time (and classes) to learn how to help his little girls with their hair. We love you, Dad!

Not to be middle of the night sentimental, but I've been married for officially a week now and that's pretty damn cool.
