I think we all know by now, either first-hand or otherwise, that the dreams here in town can be [...] hard to deal with at times. The reasons for that, I'm sure, are just as numerous as there are residents of town. But- and not to sound overtly smarmy, here- one way or another, we get through it together.

In an effort to bolster that latter sentiment, some of the local veterans and I were discussing starting up a new support group. For those who didn't already know, there is an open and confidential support group for military veterans on the first Saturday of every month, out at Dunhaven Regional Airport. But given that this group is specifically for those of us who served in the military in our real lives, we [...] wanted to offer a way to branch out toward those who served in their dreams.

We're not asking anyone to out themselves, of course. And we're certainly not therapists or professionals. Rather, just [...] sympathetic and understanding ears. But if you're interested, please let me know, and we'll get something scheduled in December. (You can respond anonymously to this post, if you feel that you need to.) Anything shared at the meeting would remain strictly confidential. Having a safe space for those of us who are dreaming along such veins is the most important part.

I woke up this morning with the realization that there will be a wedding that I'm very much a part of in exactly two months to the day. I then proceeded to panic for about three seconds, then remembered that I'm Lucy Lyon-almost-Nikolaev and if my day-to-day life has taught me anything, I sure as hell can plan a wedding without a meltdown. So the panic abated, for now. I might need to come back to this in a few weeks for another pep talk.

In the meantime, though, I get to look forward to the knowledge that I get to see my dress on Saturday for the first time since I said yes to it months ago. Oh, that gives me a heavy dose of feelings.

Well, this took a hard turn to sappiness. If the me of two years ago could see me now. (She wouldn't have believed it.)

Thanks to Naomi's brilliant idea, I'm going to put together a resource accessible to anyone dealing with the Dreams that essentially just lists who is being dreamed of and any other pertinent details you might think need to be included for others to identify that they're at least sharing dreams about the world even if they don't know the name. I've been trying to avoid reading about Marvel stuff, but it's just everywhere with all of the Disney announcements that came out the last handful of days and it's slowly grating away at my sanity which is probably the only reason I've reached this point where I'm willingly talking about these damn dreams in public. I haven't been having them that long compared to some people, so it's sort of weird for me. But these dreams are tough sometimes and I know they'll get worse, so I thought maybe it was time to sort of come out of the shadows and maybe make some connections with people who might be dreaming about the same tough things. I haven't really been paying attention to who has and hasn't been vocal about this stuff to know already, so sorry if I should know.

I'm feeling particularly exhausted today thanks to the all too predictable government news coming out of my homeland this morning, so I wanted to do something that might serve as a pick me up for others. If you go to Java Chip today before noon, literally anything you order is on me. I just request that you do something nice for someone else today. It doesn't have to be big. Just pass on some goodness, that's all.

The weather is going to be super hot this weekend in Dunhaven, so that probably means you should go to the Dreamery and get some ice cream to stay cool! My smiling face won't be there, but the ice cream will be sooo.

Hello!

So, I wanted to check in a little bit on what I've been up to. Our living room is basically littered with books from the university library. The cats are really enjoying sitting on the stacks. I think that I basically gave myself a crash course in neurology. Well, not that I necessarily needed one, since I've been studying it for a while, but that's besides the point. I had only touched on the concept of brainwashing and the extent that it could take hold, but looking into it deeper and being able to remember what Shuri actually did with Sergeant Barnes. The science is fascinating, but I'm also limited as, you know, Wakanda isn't a real place, nor is vibranium a real substance and they use it in so much of their tech and science. I've done some cursory research on possible alloys that could recreate something similar, at least in strength and versatility, but I wouldn't really know just how successful any of it would be without some experimentation. I'm going to email you my research on that, Mr. Salazar. I don't know how much it could help you with your suit.

That being said, I think that if the worst were to happen, Mr. Nikolaev, I have direction. We'd only talked a couple of weeks ago, but I know that this is important to you and I didn't want you to wonder where I was. It isn't as solid as a perfect solution, but I'm pretty confident right now that we'll get to one. I don't know how much that really helps and I'm sorry that I don't have more to give you yet.

Also, I'm going to be out of town for the next couple of days. I'll be leaving all of my research in the very intelligent and capable hands of my handsome husband, who is the smartest person there is. But if anything were to happen and I'm needed, I can't promise that I will be immediately back as it's going to require me to cross a border into the US and I already know that's probably going to be a giant pain, but I will have my phone.

Remember how I said that I didn't want to go to Toronto because my parents had a lot going on and I just started working and you have your internship and the suit stuff and everything else? I was thinking about it more and I might want to be selfish and maybe go see them, just for a couple of days. Maybe around my birthday? I know that's soon, but maybe? I haven't had a birthday with them since we got married. But maybe it would be better in August? Sometime before school starts again?
