Thanks to everyone who came out tonight in support of stopping the proposed dress code for cheerleaders in its tracks. It's great seeing how much of this community is willing to show up for us when we need them. Here's hoping our voices were heard loud and clear and that this conversation is the last one we have to have!

In the wake of Aurelius' loss at the Homecoming game last weekend, the athletic director has submitted a proposal requiring Varsity cheerleaders to wear cheer uniforms like this because showing our skin is "distracting and takes focus away from the sport that [Aurelius'] young, promising, but impressionable athletes are there to play."

There are so many things wrong with this. First of all, my sport is just as important as your football, soccer, rugby, etc. Second of all, my body is not an object to blame your shortcomings on.

Our coach thinks they'll be voting on the proposal at the board meeting next Friday night. I urge anyone who finds this as appalling and problematic as I do to go and make sure this a-hole is silenced.

GOOD NEWS, DUNHAVEN. As I know everyone was on the edge of their seats about it (or something), my wig fiiiinally came with hardly any time to spare before driving northwards with Noah and the Malones. (We're going to Comic Con, we go every year, I like to cosplay, etc.) And I'm particularly proud of what I've put together, so please consider this my time to brag, just a bit.

So! Who we have there is Han Solo, Princess Zelda circa Twilight Princess, and Captain America. I thought about wigs for the first and last, but I figured that Han and Steve would be okay with going ginger for a day and I can really only stand a wig for one day anyway. I was way more intricate with my cosplay last year and it was kind of a pain in the ass, so I went for comfort this year and will even have one day where I'm just me.

Ahhhh. Consider me excited.
