Well, hey, Dunhaven. For those that don't know me, I'm Kiera and if you tune into WRAV during the morning, I am one half of the team that graces your commutes/time spent getting read/breakfasts/etc.

So, this past year, the radio station has done a bunch of giveaways for trips and all that. As we finish planning out our year, I wanted to see if the community as a whole had any additional suggestions on games or giveaways or prizes we might give out that you'd be interested in. Concert tickets? Shows in DC? Just more trips around the country or world? Trivia stuff? What's your fancy?

Obviously I can't promise any of this will actually happen as I am but one voice in a team of several and really don't have a lot of weight to pull around. However, suggestions can be made and I'm happy to be the one to do it.

Hi everyone,

If I haven't met you personally before, my name is Avery Perkins. I'm the director of Picasso art gallery and run an Etsy shop with Caty Norfolk.

I'm reaching out to all of you today to let you know that I've been sharing dreams with someone from Westeros as well- Cersei Lannister.

I hid it for a long time for a variety of reasons. The largest and most important reason being that I know just how much Cersei has hurt all of you. I thought that by keeping her from affecting you here, in this life, that I was protecting you from her in my own small way.

I recently came clean with Caty about everything and she encouraged me to reach out to the rest of you to let you know. I took some time to think about it, and realized that she was right. (She usually is.) So this is me letting you all know.

Please understand that I do not agree with any of the horrendous things that Cersei did within her life. If I could take them back or do anything at all to fix them, I would. So I hope you won't hold them against me, but I also understand if you'd rather not interact with me beyond this.

I have a very important question for you.

Halloween is just around the corner, and then we shoot straight into stereotypical holiday season, so I want to impart a few PSA's for everyone's general consideration.

This Halloween, please remember that blue pumpkin pails are an indication that the child in front of you is on the Autism Spectrum! They may not interact with you like the average trick or treater, and parents may have a certain request of you per sensory or dietary needs! Please do your best to be accommodating so that these kiddos can enjoy the holiday as much as every other child in the neighborhood!

It's a little early for this next one, but bear with me. I want to give plenty of time for people to think about it.

This Christmas, if you are a family that celebrates with Santa, please think about gifting some of your smaller items from Santa and "big gifts" from parents/grandparents/relatives. Perfect Santa gifts are your items like socks, pajamas, blankets, and maybe a book or two.

But why shouldn't Santa give the television or the newest gaming system or that expensive doll?

Children will most likely rave at school about their new toys and gifts from Santa. For the children whose families cannot afford expensive gifts, or who are not with their family at all this Christmas, this can be a difficult thing to reconcile. Help keep the magic alive for every child. Santa shouldn't play favorites, and the more people we can get on board with this, the better Christmas may be for the children who have less.

We should have proms more often. I can't think of a single thing I would change about last night.

Who else had a very lazy post-prom Sunday? I spent most of my day lounging with my fiancé, playing games on my phone. 10/10 would recommend.

For example, it might look like:

Just leave a note here, anonymously or not, letting me know the name of who you are dreaming about and anything else you want to mention. And while I don't think there's anything wrong with venting your problems when needed, I do love the idea about venting about joy. So with this holiday weekend coming and it being Friday and all those sorts of things, I want to hear what you're excited about, Dunhaven! Maybe something in the way future, maybe something you already did and are still riding the excitement waves in -- anything that has you all pumped.

As for me, I just finished unpacking and decorating my room last night so it feels even more cozy and just a little while ago I finished talking to my adviser and I officially (finally) declared a Social Work major. It all feels pretty good. 🎉
