My greatest fear? Becoming worse than the monsters... becoming the creature that Richard already thinks that I am.

Richard already thinks I'm too close to what he calls the monsters -- even though in a technical sense, he's one too. Then again, he thinks Edward is a monster, too.

I've gotten better at accepting who I am -- something that I don't think Richard ever will. I'm the sweetie of a vampire master... and the physical and spiritual mate of a Leopard king. This doesn't take into account my relationship with Asher... or Damian or Nathaniel or...

Am I monster?

I don't know, but I don't think so.

I don't hesitate to do whatever I feel I have to do to protect me and mine. I have seen too much death and destruction and I don't want to lose anyone else.

I don't want to die, either.

I don't enjoy killing, but that doesn't mean I won't hesitate to do so if I have to.

Yeah, I'm afraid of becoming worse than the monsters...

...but I also think I have people around me who would put me down if that ever became the case.

My greatest fear?

I used to think that being trapped in an elevator was my greatest fear. I've never been a big fan of them and most of them have always terrified me.

However, that wasn't even close to what I was really terrified of, and the fear demon, Barbas, used that to his advantage and caught me completely off guard. It wasn't until he used me as bait to try to lure Prue to her death that I was forced to face up to my real fear.

Losing one of my sisters.

While I was being forced to watch Prue struggle for her life in that swimming pool, I felt myself dying as well. It was like the panic over watching Prue drown was literally suffocating me. Piper almost lost both of us that night, and I think Barbas was counting on that.

What he didn't count on was that we're Halliwells.

Right when it seemed to be over, that Prue was gone, she suddenly came back up out of the water and faced Barbas down. Later, she told us that Mom had come to her and helped her see past her fear to save us both from Barbas.

I still have that fear -- of losing one of my sisters. I don't what I would do if I lost Prue or Piper. I really do think it would destroy me completely.

That's not something I ever want to have to face, and I'll do anything I can do to make sure they stay safe.

Losing Will because I am not quick enough to save him.

That's my biggest fear. The lives that Will and I now lead are not exactly the safest. We're marked as pirates. There are precious few safe harbours for us now, and we're not exactly the favorite people of Davy Jones, either.

Of course, Will also erroneously believes that I am in love with Jack Sparrow -- which I most certainly am not.

I would do anything in my power -- anything I have to -- to protect Will.

I'm just afraid it will not be enough.

That is, perhaps, a kind of a loaded statement, as there are several things that might make my life better than what it is now or has been in the past.

Before I came to Archenland and Narnia, I would have said that freedom to choose my own destiny and be myself would make my life better -- and it has. I have Hwin, Cor (he will always be Shasta to me), and Bree. Cor and Corwin's father treats me as if I am one of his family. I have met High King Peter and his family. I have met Aslan. I have a real family, now. I am happier than I have been since my mother died. I am truly content.

Had I heard this question before I left Calormene, there would have been a long list of answers.

My life would be better if my mother was still alive, or if my father had never married, or if, or if, or if...

It's one of those things that you never seem to run out of answers for.

I choose to focus on the now, and not worry about the then.

What is my greatest fear?

Oddly enough, it isn't being killed on the job. Even with more and more villains having shooters, well even the hard ones don't want that much bird. The mad ones, yeah, they don't care but we don't generally get the mad one. The Murder Squad has that joy.

I think maybe it's getting old.

I don't want to be old and alone. I see too many of the fellows on the squad going that route. They keep going because they have nothing else. More and more risk until something breaks, usually them. I watch Jack drive himself everyday, harder and harder. He's got no one but me and I think that scare me a bit too. I don't want to end up like him, no life, no family, no partner...

So many fears to choose from, yet one stands apart from them all.

My greatest fear is the rise of another dark wizard. It is not a matter of if this will happen, but when. I pray I am not alive to see that day.

My mother and father want me to marry and produce an heir. They once had a selection of pureblood girls picked out for me to choose from. Of course, those girls wouldn’t touch me with a barge pole now. I’m tainted. That suits me just fine, though. They all had horse faces. I'm not joking, one of them actually had hooves.

I am the last of the Malfoy line. I intend it to stay that way. No child or grandchild or great-grandchild of mine will ever have to know the horror that I have.

As a man whose career is as dangerous as my own, one would expect fear as his constant companion. However, my investigative methods leave little in question, thus I am assured its outcome insofar as I am capable before confronting the criminal of his crime.

However, there is something I am loathe to admit that I fear most in the world.

(I guess there’s a lot of little things I’m scared of that I really shouldn’t be, It’s not like maggots can kill me after all, but they sure as hell make my skin crawl.)

My greatest fear? Having it happen over again. Having to hide, to lie, to disguise our talents, our dreams, our very essence. Those fifteen years were torture unique and yet commonly known to most teenagers: to be denied the freedom to be who and what you are, to do not just what you wanted, but what you needed to do. The secret identities were more real to many than their so-called “real lives”.

It’s hard to be shunted into just one role after living a dual life for so long. For a while, yes, it seemed simpler. We all learned what “free time” was. However, without that outlet daily life soon became not only monotonous but maddening. Heroism is a calling for many, and to be denied that… It’s hard to quit anything cold turkey, much less a key part of you life, of you existence.

I will never go back to that. I can’t. I won’t. It cannot be allowed.

A single word answer is inappropriate here, and so I will paint you a little picture.

Drowning. Yeah, that's my worst fear.

See, it's a perfectly legitimate fear for those of my kind. My kind you ask? Well, let's see, I'm a fire mage and in my world, fire mages are so because their soul is literally a fire-spirit and they happen to just live in a human body. Same with any other elemental mage really. So I don't actually burn. That's a good thing because if I did, then I would never be able to do my magic.

The downside is that water makes me weak. I literally cannot learn how to swim because I would lose all strength and drown. I...can take showers and walk in the rain, but I don't particularly enjoy it because it's uncomfortable. I can't take baths though. And I can drink water but only because the human body requires it to function.

Yes, I'm afraid of water in general. I hate rain and I hate getting wet. I hate large bodies of water and I hate puddles.

But what I fear the most is someday drowning in the water I hate so much.
