Any man who has the guts to sell his soul for love has the power to change the world -- From Ghost Rider
Well, that's great as a
theory, isn't it? Maybe the man who had the 'guts' to do that
would have the power to change the world. Could be.
Problem is, I've never in my life met a man who had the guts to sell his soul for love. A woman? Sure, come across plenty of those strong enough to do such a thing, but a man? A
man, capable of being that strong? Not a chance.
Men are afraid of love, afraid of the light it brings. They're happier in the dark, trying their hardest to remain ignorant, remain unknowing. They're cowards at heart, every last one of them. Real love takes strength, it takes bravery, it takes true courage. It's the biggest risk you can take, holding your breath, leaping off a cliff on to rocky shores below and hoping and trusting and praying that the person you love will catch you, will break your fall.
Men have tiny, shrivelled hearts that close up at the merest touch. A woman will sell her soul for love in an instant, in the rich, open moment of a heartbeat. We change the world every second, every day.
And yet, we still chase them, these men, these useless creatures. We lower ourselves by loving them and, yet, we do it. Fools that we are.
One day, we'll learn. One day, we'll be free.
