One of the happiest moments in my life? I'd have to say the day my lil girl Joanna Beth was born. She was so small and I was afraid of dropping her or hurting her when asked if I wanted to hold her for the first time. Once she was in my arms though you'd of needed a crowbar to get her away from me. I sat down with her and just held her against my chest and felt that tiny head nuzzle into me like she did so many times after that. I looked down at that little face and i knew right then and there she'd have me wrapped around her lil ol finger. I wasn't too worried about that though because I knew Ellen wouldn't let me get too lax. I mean I like to think I was a good dad, firm but fair.

But the day Jo was born and holding her for the very first time was one of the happiest moments in this old hunter's life.

I've many long years and many memories to examine, and many of them have been happy. The funny thing about asking about one happy moment is that they are generally tied to other moments. Much like a gentle rain fall that produces a beautiful showing of flowers afterward.

And then there are those happy moments that arrive on the wings of a tempest. In the midst of death and destruction, of reality twisting and raining fire, I found the rarest blossom of all. Forgiveness. [It is still a concept that is foreign and unfamiliar to me, but I am learning.] When Abel appeared before Caine and spoke the words 'I forgive you' I thought that he was speaking solely to his brother. Another, smarter, maybe humbler part of me grasped that Abel was speaking to Caine and all of his dark get. That smarter part of me grasped for and clung to that slender thread as the world snapped around me. I thought that I was going to die, finally die, and I knew regret as I've never tasted it before.

To say that the moment I opened my eyes and discovered my heart beating again after it had been stilled for over three centuries was one of the happiest in my life... that is just a bit of an understatement.

Tell about one of the happiest moments in your life.

Oh. Now this is going to sound rather strange, but the happiest moment of my life was the day I regained consciousness after my ordeal on Thangorodrim.  I had been as near to death as any elf could be, and still be alive; I was emaciated from starvation, badly injured from the torture I'd endured from Morgoth as well as from where Findekano had struck off my hand to save me.  Every part of my body hurt, and my right arm most of all.

And yet, he was there. I had recalled seeing him on the mountain with me, before I lost consciousness, but I had thought it a dream. I had thought him to still remain in Valinor while my father and brothers and I had crossed into Beleriand. My father had ordered the ships burned so that Findekano and his kin could not follow us, and from that moment on, I had believed that I would never see him again.

When I opened my eyes that day and realised that he was there, really there, and it wasn't a dream, my fea soared with joy.  To be separated from the one to whom your soul is bonded in such a way, is a terrible thing. Without Findekano I could never be complete, and to find myself reunited with him, despite the physical pain I was in, that was without doubt the happiest moment of my life.
