Prompt 1: Who Am I?

Oh you wanted more than that did you?
Okay well I'm Canadian and I'm a scientist - astrophysics, wormhole physics, etc, etc. I'm the one everyone turns to when everything goes to hell and we've run out of military options.
Where am I... well strictly speaking I shouldn't tell you, with it being classfied, but I did notice that Cadman's already introduced herself and managed to forget about non disclosure. Thing is, what you have to remember, is that sometimes myths are more than just stories.
I'm on Atlantis.
It's not some legend and I have not lost my mind. It's a city built by a race of aliens we call the Ancients. When we found it, it really was underwater, but not under any ocean on Earth. It's not even in the same galaxy. See we can travel to other planets by something called a Stargate. This is where the wormhole technology comes in.
There are other beings out here too - and not all of them friendly. We are at war with two very powerful enemies - the Replicators, which are like living robots but more complicated (okay, a lot more complicated) and my personal favourite (sarcasm) - the Wraith.
My sister once asked me what I'd gotten involved in.
I think the better question would be why.
