001: Catwoman.

Oh, I love this question, if only for how thoroughly open-ended it is. It's the question guards ask just before I remove them from the equation (which is better for everyone all around, in reality; if they're awake, they're in considerably more serious danger), and it's what myriad petty junior thieves want to know when they fail to pick up their score because it simply interested me first. While I am not quite arrogant enough to believe I have as many enemies as the Bat -- and really, I'm so much more personable, so that's not a surprise -- it is safe to say that one of the larger questions of Gotham is who is Catwoman?

That information, as we have seen with countless other costumed types, heroic and otherwise, is incredibly valuable. Our friends, and our loved ones, if we have any of either, are put at risk the moment a name is revealed. One might even say that it is priceless, and so we forge aliases and personas in an attempt at keeping ourselves safe off the job. Sometimes they fail, and sometimes drastic measures must be taken. There was a man who called himself Black Mask, and he can attest to that--although, of course, all I heard about it is rumor. Speculation, really. He crossed the wrong woman, as so many men do.

So.

Who am I?

Wouldn't you like to know?
