So, I want to get something for a friend. Anywhere on this ship where I can find a book containing lots of poetry? Or several books of it? Maybe also books about adventure and excitement. But poetry books are my first choice as Christmas gift.

Um... excuse me? I have lost my friend. It is a little strange to say but... has anyone seen a flying monster hand?

Oh dear Brother, oh dear Father... If this is supposed to be a joke, then you forget who I am! If this is a test, you underestimate me. And if this is your true punishment, then I feel very sorry for both of you.

[He pauses. The silence ebbs away, laughter filtering through slowly.]

Well, this isn't exactly Mardi Gras, but I suppose it'll do. Anyone mind telling me where this is?

At first, I didn't know why I was here. Consider who and what I am, even not knowing. I should not be here, it shouldn't be possible. But I knew you were here. So I came to the conclusion that the White anomaly must have summoned me and my friends here for a reason. To find you and erase you.

I know you are here... I saw it in another's memories. So many eyes saw you, so many remembered. Isn't that a unique experience? And it made me think. Maybe I wasn't just meant to bring an end to my own time alone... Perhaps I was meant to bring an end to all of time. I am so happy to be here on this ship. I have the face for it, don't I?

That was such a great meeting, I do hope there are future gatherings like that for the Dead Poets Society. I have had my own society like it too, though a little different A group of people coming together to share stories and poetry, and art. Truly inspirational. I think the sharing of ideas in groups is always good, usually. It leads to growth, enrichment, keeps our minds sharp and always learning. So, thanks to Nuwanda for putting that together.

I'm calling together the first meeting of the Dead Poets Society, here on the TARDIS. I've been talking about it since I got here, and I haven't mentioned it for a while so I'm making it happen. Seize the day! Carpe diem!

It'll start in the library tomorrow evening. Where it goes from there? Who knows! That's the point, right? We let the poetry lead us, and we create and experiment, inspire each other. If you wanna come along, come along! Bring something that makes you feel something intense, something that inspires you. The booze will be provided.

So there's a market out there? Sounds keen. It'll be nice to get out in some fresh air, rediscover living, gain some new experiences. Anyone fancy coming along with me? Carpe diem.

What is this? I do not understand. Father, is this a test? This won't do, sorry. I have a company to run. I was just about to head over to the club to celebrate my graduation. It would have been a great night too. Also had important meetings later in the week. Damn. I know I'm far from Earth, that much I do know. The question is why. It serves little purpose.
