Uh, hey guys. Happy Thanksgiving. I showed up late last night so I kind of have an idea of what's going on, plus this isn't my first time showing up in a random city that I was not in five seconds ago. I probably know a lot of you guys or...versions of you guys from what my wife tells me, so I wanted to say hey. I'm here for a while, apparently.

Also I have yams that we apparently don't need since everyone already shopped for Thanksgiving...does anyone want some yams? Free to a good home!

Hey, how's it going? Are you doing okay?

[ The video switches on and Cleo is clear across the room, back turned to her laptop. There is a clear view of her living and kitchen table. The table is loaded with text books and papers, a messy setting in an otherwise spotless apartment. She's dressed in short cotton shorts, a UC Davis T-Shirt, her hair pulled up in a messy bun with her glasses on her face. In her hand is a coffee mug.

Dreams can be heard playing. Cleo is dancing around her living room, clearly unaware of the camera. Her free hand is held out in front of her, wrist twisting back and forth, fingers bent. There is a small herb garden set up beside her patio door, beside the plants is a cup half full of water. The glass shakes slightly, and then the water begins to rise. The volume of water increases as it does, more water coming out of the glass than what had been in there to start. The stream of water rises up and out of the glass, it twists through the air and breaks apart into several smaller streams of water. Each stream them gently descends down onto one of her plants, watering them all in one fluid motion. Cleo turns her back on the cloud and keeps dancing around her living room, eventually spinning into her kitchen and out of sight.

Is that like the Royal shows? Because if it is, Cleo, you don't get a choice and you're coming with us to the fair. But if it isn't, then what the hell is it? I can't believe I don't know this, yet, that's really awful...seven years in America and I'm still not a Stupid American, yet.

Right, also, I've found my juice bar from home and since my co-owner is clearly not here or is too busy being a grouchy Hale to speak up, I'm going to need some help, yeah? Anyone interested? Bit like a regular bar, except we don't serve alcohol; so substitute liquor for smoothies and WiFi.

[She's sitting on the bed in her Los Angeles apartment with a twenty-month old girl on her lap. Her expression is concentrated, because she was trying to read the bloody welcome letter, but as soon as she gets to the bottom, before she can go back to the top to re-read and make sure she didn't miss anything, the webcam turns on instead. She doesn't realize it's actually live broadcasting as well. The accent is clearly Aussie, although it's mellowed a bit with her time in America.]

Oh, fucking hell, not again.

[She gasps and covers her mouth immediately when she realizes that thought slipped out aloud and she drops her hand away to lean down to kiss the baby's head.]

Mummy didn't say that; you didn't hear that, did you, Burrito? No. [She smirks and laughs a little when the baby girl looks up from their reflections on the screen and covers Rikki's mouth the way her daddy sometimes playfully does when Mum slips up like that.]

I know, I'm so sorry, my love. That was bad. Mummy said bad, no-no words. Daddy'll have to yell at me later, yeah? Shall we go see if he's about? Hmm? [The little girl babbles out a bubbly series of Daddydaddydaddyyyys and Rikki is about to set the tablet down when it makes a sound and the screen changes. ...Christ, that was recording. And posting. Brilliant.]

I have spent all of this weekend so far studying, and it's just to get ahead. My life is sad.

This is not meant to knock couples, but is there anyone around here, of age, who doesn't have to check their schedule with anyone else, and looking to meet new people?

Why must you have so many States, America?

Ah, okay. So that's why I had the keys to the clinic and nothing else on me when I got here. ...I can't decide if I'm relieved that I'll have something to do or annoyed that this place won't even let me just try to pretend I happen to be on a vacation without my husband. On the plus side, apparently it also felt it important to bring the bank account with me — not mine, of course, because that would be too easy; the company bank account — so I guess that means I should hire some people to help me out and tentatively take over the clinic for a month or two when Evangeline comes...

That said...anybody interested in cleaning cages, walking dogs, filing and doing other mostly monotonous, slightly gross, and yet somehow still adorable work at an animal clinic? Experience obviously preferred, but not having any isn't necessarily a deal breaker. Or, even better, any other vets or vet techs around here? I'd love to not be the only medical professional here...

Has anyone here been to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, and is there anyone interested in going?

Right, hi, so I'm Cleo. This is my third round of alternate universes and I still don't like it, but at least there was a break between this one and the last. Any other twenty somethings around here married to their work/school? I was starting at UC Davis for my DVM. What I'm going to end up doing here is to be determined.
