Yes, I know it is February, but in China we celebrate the change of year by the lunar calendar, which is today. Or starts today, Chinese New Year is a festival that can go on for a while.

If it is alright, I would like to be in the kitchen today to try to make some traditional Chinese dishes. I have been gathering ingredients for a while, as best as I could manage. It will not be as good as my mother used to make, but I hope it would still taste good.

I've been thinking about this for some time now. I wasn't sure how to bring it up and with everything that went on with the succubus and then Kai, there just wasn't a good time to talk about this but I think there needs to be a conversation now.

Back in August I got something from home that I've kept in secret. I suppose I didn't say anything at first because I wasn't sure what the purpose of me having it was. I've come to terms with it now and I've realized that we can decide what to do with our time here. We can figure out what sort of future we want to have.

I have the Mortal Cup. Theoretically, if mundanes drink from it, they can become nephilim and bare the marks. But they also might die I know what I'm saying. I know it sounds absolutely insane but we need to start considering that Everett may be permanent. We need to consider the idea of rebuilding our race.

I am quite sure all of you have been made aware of the Heretic named Kai. He has crossed over into some forbidden magic and now poses a dangerous threat. Kai Parker has deemed himself fit to use necromancy to control vampires and zombies.

We can't rely on vampires to kill Kai and it sounds like the slayers may not be up to the task. Care to do some hunting? I will, of course, supply anything I can in order to help you.

I realize the sanctuary is a place to feel safe and a means to avoid Kai Parker, but I fear he is getting more powerful every day.

It is time we took care of this issue since he has decided to toy with necromancy.

What the hell? Now we have to worry about something going around and biting people and propping them on fences? Has anyone else been attacked by a cannibal crazy fucking freak who doesn't like fairies? I thought the prison was freaking safe? Yeah, right. So over this shit.

We have a problem.

I was on my way back to the prison with a friend when we she was attacked by a demon. Big demon. Huge demon. Red and green with scales down it's back, kind of demon. Glowy eyes and I'm pretty sure what looked like horns coming out of it's head.

She's safe but the demon got away.

I'm going to head to the projects, stretch my legs some. Does anyone need anything?

I've already spoken to Wesley but wanted to talk with the rest of you as well.

I've completed the autopsy on the demon that Faith and Alec brought in. Wesley helped me to identify it as Der Kindestod, a demon who feeds on ill children. It must have been starving which is why it attacked Faith and Alec.

We believe the demon may have come through the portal from Wesley and Faith's world but we're not sure. We should all remain very vigilant.

We also think that maybe I should give up my raiding position and stay on full time as the medical examiner. I was needed after Z-Day to handle the influx of bodies and that's likely not the last demon that will be brought in for autopsy. I want to make sure that was something you would all find useful. Let me know.

I must admit I'm a fan of gossip, but even I have to wonder at the timing. Someone bored despite all the mayhem?

I was attacked last night, and not by a zombie! Some kind of weird-ass vampire. Not okay! He didn't even buy me dinner first.

Seventeen people died and more were hurt during the attack. For everyone who survived, we can't say that shit like this won't happen again because it most definitely will, but next time we will be more prepared.

Tonight on the front lawn at 8PM, we're going to do a memorial for the people we lost. You can say a few words or not say anything at all, up to you.
