Just so you three are aware, I'm going to Virginia Beach tomorrow after work and will be back Sunday sometime. So, you know, don't panic.

In case you wanted to see me try desperately not to cry through a performance, the NSO is doing Coco In Concert Live to Film on July 27. Tickets are still available! I'm just going to spend much of my time between now and then watching the movie to try to desensitize myself.

It's been a long while since we've done one of these and, though I no longer need the data for my sociology class, I do think they've been very productive in terms of discussion. So here's another anonymous post for you! Again, you can turn on the anon filter and no one will know who you are, or you can just respond as yourself, whether because you're not ready to reveal who you're dreaming about, or whatever the case may be.

Tonight's question is: If you could say something to someone you knew/know in your dream world that you can't say here for whatever reason, what would it be?

Oceana, remember that birthday of yours that fell just after we both finished up at Juilliard and we were broke as can be, barely able to afford that apartment, but determined to do something nice for your birthday? So I bought the cheapest box of cake mix and tub of frosting that I could find, whipped it all up, and then promptly forgot about it in the oven and then nearly burned down that apartment we could barely afford. And then I threw in the towel, borrowed some money from my mom, and took you to the diner for something greasy and wasn't charred chocolate cake.

It feels like that was both a long time ago and yesterday, which I think means we're both getting advanced in age.

Happy birthday to you, my friend. I love you and you deserve only the very best of things. Make sure that boy of yours takes you out for something better than charred chocolate cake.

Sunday June 23rd will be Deaf Day at the Dunhaven Renaissance Festival! This will be the first time we've tried it, but I'm expecting great things- and I'm even working during my summer vacation for it- so don't let me down, Dunhaven. 😉

Gallaudet alumni, parents of Deaf or HoH children, and anyone studying ASL will receive half off admission. Deaf and HoH children will get in for free. Certified ASL interpreters will be available for all stage shows, and Deaf and silent storyteller Dack Virnig will be a featured performer on that day only.

Zeke and I are taking our first long weekend without Adelaide, which is both exciting and a little nerve wracking.

But I think most of the anxiety is coming from the fact that I bought a ring and I'm going to ask Zeke to marry me while we're in Virginia Beach next weekend. 😬 I know it's not very traditional, but we haven't been very traditional?

Either way, I'm doing it.
