One of the shop regulars insisted that I sit and watch that reality show about a ship crew. Something about the Deck? Swabbing the Deck? I've seen plenty of reality shows because when you work the late night shift in the ER, there are times when you need something to keep you entertained.

And awake.

I went in with the assumption it was going to be some sort of Survival-esque competition show but with pirates? It was not that at all, which was a bit disappointing.

It was an actual crew maintaining an impressive yacht catering to very wealthy people. And I...may have watched two whole seasons within the last twenty-four hours. Give or take a few hours for sleeping. As much as I may tease my husband, the fact that he survives through my current obsession - anyone remember the paranormal shows? - it makes me love him more.

April 1st is on a Monday this year.

That's both a warning and a brainstorming idea.

For the past two days, since I woke up, I have wanted nothing else but creme brulee. A very specifically made kind. Creme brulee and tira misu. Which has made the local Italian take-out place fairly happy. Enough that they're displaying business cards for the shop on their pick-up counter.

While sleeping for a week might sound great, my stretching routine has tripled and I'm almost positive I've forever kinked my left shoulder.

And, so he can remind me that I put this in writing, Stephen Strange: I do not want flowers for Valentine's Day. For a while, actually. Chocolates from 7-11 will be perfect.

It's bullshit that this place won't even let us grieve in peace. It has to mess up our lives in the process.

At least I'm paired with someone well over drinking age.

I don't say it enough, but I love you both.

I never want to watch The Weather Channel or natural disaster movies again.

I don't want to be that person but I definitely do not miss working the ER shift on Halloween.

I wouldn't miss the hundreds of questions regarding talking to "the other side" using spirit boards. Believer or not, I think we can all agree that everything ends up going to shit when you mess with them.

The things you never thought you'd be asked until you work in a new age shop with your Avenger husband.

Halloween just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore. I've seen way too much scary stuff in my life to find fake scares amusing. So, I am still deciding whether I should even dress up for Halloween this years.

Fortune cookies are an acquired taste, but they're also a welcomed source of entertainment during late-night shifts in the ER and otherwise. We won't get into the amount of Lo Mein we consumed. If you know, you know.

But who would have thought they'd be so accurate?

Don't get me wrong: I appreciate pumpkin, spice, and lattes as much as the next person, but that's not really a product we're carrying. There's a Starbucks just across the way, so you can get your fix while shopping, though.

So, of all of the things that have happened to me, this has to top the list.

I need to find some place to get some good tequila to make sure all of this is real.

If anyone is curious and is need of proof, I may or may not have a picture of my husband partaking in some ice cream and actual fun this past weekend.

I considered marking the occasion with a post in the local newspaper or a billboard, but I hung them on the fridge instead.

I think it's only fair that I offer to keep an eye on anyone, anything, or any place if you're looking to sneak away to Hawaii for a few days. Keeping my husband in line is a full-time job, so I may employ anyone I get in my care to assist me if that's alright.

I've brought down entire armies for less than dragging me to another dimension against my will.

I would suggest someone find a way to return me or there will be literal hell to pay.

I went to let myself into the shop this morning I was stuck to the door for nearly an hour.

Actually, I am because, without said countdown schedule, I'm pretty sure I'd forget what day it is given how things happen around here.
