Wrote the post, venting, sometimes (like I told Jack) the kumbaya hand holding sucks especially when you're trying to make something chill happen and get made to feel bad for not including white ppl one time.

That said, I didn't do those horrifying anti-semitic banners, Daniel and Rae were with me all night and I know most of you don't know me but those who do I hope you know I'd never fucking do something like that.

Live and learn and all that, and I apologize to anyone I offended for my half-Nigerian post-segregation land venting. Just to reiterate, I did not do those banners. That's disgusting and whoever did? Go fuck yourself.

I'm gonna not be around for a few days though 'cos honestly the post is getting blown out of proportion and given neither I nor Daniel, the participants, were responsible for the seriously offensive thing here which is the anti-semitism I think maybe focus on that instead of coming for my half black and his Asian pretty justified not-chill "private" thoughts.

So, we've now got two snowmobiles and a snowcat. It would have been nice if they'd given us a car, something more people would know how to operate, but I'm still pretty happy with the new equipment. We need it, and I'm so grateful to Reginald for winning it.

Having talked it over with Owen, Oliver, Kate, and Erran, I believe it's best to save the snowcat for emergencies, with the snowmobiles free for everyone to use. But before that happens, I'd like to ask who here actually knows how to operate either?

Tomorrow, I'm volunteering to teach anyone that wants to learn how to drive the snowmobiles. Chase has agreed to help educate everyone with a few things to look for that may indicate the vehicle has been tampered with. I also strongly suggest that if you're going to take a snowmobile, please post to the network first to let people know that you're taking one, and roughly how long you expect to be gone for. That way we can go looking for you in case something happens.

I really can't stress enough how important it is to use these as carefully as possible. We have no helmets, and you really don't want me trying to treat a brain bleed if you crash into a tree. Please, please be smart and safe about this.

We'll also need people that are interested in learning how to operate the snowcat. The more the better.

Reginald dropped off the keys to the vehicles he won for the house, and I just went outside to go check it out. No car. Two snowmobiles and a snowcat. On one hand, I'm kind of annoyed and wish they would have just given us a damn truck. On the other, the snowcat's gonna be kind of a godsend if there's ever an emergency.

What I'm wondering now is, how do we handle this? It feels wrong to just hoard the keys and not let anyone else use them. At the same time, we can't afford to have anyone damage them. And I have some rather huge safety concerns about people using the snowmobiles that don't know what they're doing. Same goes for the snowcat. It's not just a car on a track, there are some pretty important differences, especially going downhill. If someone totals any of them, I might not be able to help them.

We could take a day where those of us who know how to use a snowmobile teach people that don't, but I kind of lean towards keeping the snowcat for storms and emergencies. Thoughts?

Reginald gave me the keys to the transport he won - two snowmobiles and a snowcat. Do you have experience with either, from a repairs standpoint? Would you be willing to look them over and familiarize yourself if not?

We're gonna round up people that know how to use them and teach whoever wants to learn, but we'd also really like to be able to teach people what signs of tampering to look for to avoid any accidents like with the bikes. Is that something you can help out with?

I talked to Cecilia for a bit. She brought up the idea of possibly putting Simms under as a last resort until the trial if we somehow can't get him back in the cell. I don't think it will come to that, but we might want to consider it an option. He wouldn't have any chance to hurt someone, and we wouldn't have to hurt him.

Just wanted to let you to know that the idea was brought up to put Simms under until the trial as a last resort if we for some reason can't get him into the cell. It's a good option to keep him from hurting anyone, and would lessen the chances of him getting hurt as well. Owen, Cecilia and myself are on board if it comes down to that. That's obviously the majority, but I wanted to let you know what was going on before it happened in case there were any major concerns or questions you had. I'll try to get back to reply as soon as I can.

So, I just got some bad news from Owen. Our overlords have ordered us to release Simms "on his own recognizance" and hold a trial for him tomorrow morning. (They're picking the jury, so that'll be fun.) If he's found guilty then he gets kicked out of the bunker along with Lila, and if not then he gets his badge back. I guess it's not decided yet whether we're actually going to do this or not, but given your history with your father I didn't think it was fair to just let you randomly find out on your own that there's a violent sex offender back on the streets.

I'm pissed off about it because we were told that They would respect Owen's and/or the council's decisions on this stuff, but whatever, the part that we can all control is to prepare emotionally and look out for each other.

Got this message this morning:

"New orders have come in from up above. You do not have the clearance to hold Scott Simms indefinitely. C39 does not have the resources to feed and care for prisoners long-term. You must hold a trial for him tomorrow morning. We will select members of the jury to oversee this trial and pronounce judgment. If found innocent, he will be restored to his previous post. If guilty, he and his wife will be removed from C39.

Until the trial, you are ordered to release the prisoner on his own recognizance under strict warning to stay away from his accuser, and the witness against him."

Cecilia and Oliver vote no. If you guys want to keep him in his cell, we'll do it.

eta: Oliver came up with the idea of letting Simms out, but getting him back in his cell based on another transgression. I think this might be the best way to deal with this without pissing off TPTB by technically following their instructions, and also keeping people safe.

Hey, Tobias and Lennon invited me to go out tomorrow but I don't want to leave you with the baby all day long by yourself. I can maybe do a half day tomorrow so we can be home together, or I can take care of the baby for a bit while you go out, if you're up to that. Even people in the 50s had days off, but at least a partial paycheck would be good.
