Why is there a swear jar outside my door?

I met the leprechaun today. The rainbow was in the alley behind the shop, next to the dumpster. I asked him for the portal clock that leads to Fillory. He said I couldn't be allowed to go to Fillory but I could have the clock so now it's here and it looks pretty cool in the living room.
