Hi All! Just throwing it out there what will happen with Leon on Friday, when the acceptance results for WADA are due to come out...

When the post comes at breakfast on Friday morning, he'll be sitting at the Slytherin table, chilling out before Transfiguration and basically looking his usual relaxed self. He'll look nervous, though, when the owls start coming in, and will practically DIVE for his mail (causing chaos in the process). Once he reads his letter and finds out he's got in, he's going to jump up from the table and without saying a word, run over to the Hufflepuff table and plant a great big snog on Maggie Wood (cleared with Sarah, btw), thus publicising their relationship, and run out of the door to the Entrance Hall for a celebratory lap of the grounds.

Phil and Maggie will both know why he's reacting that way, and possibly some of the other Slytherin 7ths and Leon's other friends? He probably won't post on the journals right away and will inevitably be a few minutes late to Transfiguration B. Anyway, if your char was at breakfast, feel free to post reactions/thoughts on the matter!

It looks like Callum’s personality-altering candies are ready for their beta release! Beginning next Monday, 23 April, there will be seven different candy colors distributed to random places around the castle by Roxie Weasley. Each color affects the personality of the individual who ate the candy differently (colors and their effects are listed below). Even pills of the same color can affect two different people differently: one person with the yellow pill may simply be quieter, another may be nervous and socially awkward; someone who takes the orange pill could be jumping headfirst into dangerous adventures or merely more peppy than usual. Without interference (aka someone realizing something is up and taking them to the Hospital Wing or to Professor Podmore), the effects of the candies should last about a week.

First and foremost, this is a voluntary game-wide plot; if you don’t want your characters to be affected, they don’t have to be. If you have four or more characters, you can sign two of them up to take the candies; if you have less than four, you can sign one up. It is completely up to you which characters and which color candies they eat (though do try to take a look at the distribution beforehand, and if there’s one that’s less represented, think about that one).

Because Dani still soundly blames Aidan and Seb for the monstrous, premeditated and unjustifiable THEFT of Mr. Smacky, she is (lowly) taking revenge.

Last (Sunday) night, whilst Aidan slept the sleep of the unknowing evildoer, she stole across to his bed and hit him with charm she uses to change her hair colour, turning his a deep brown that will last a good six weeks before it fades.

Her plans may have backfired slightly in that he looks damned fine, but she still feels as though she's gotten her own back and is okay with that.

Hey guys! A few upcoming plot points. Firstly, we want to get the clubs more involved in the plot, and the first step is an art show by the Art Collective! This will also include a small exhibition of the best quidditch photographs. While the art show won't occur until the end of the year (May 26), there will be a preview show after spring break on Sunday, April 8th. All Art Collective members, as well as foreign photographers, are expected to have one or two pieces ready to show by then. In addition to an art show, there will also be a recital for dancers, singers, musicians, actors and other artists the night of the art show though they will not be expected to have something prepared by April. While this is a long way off, it's something for characters to keep mind mind.

Secondly, there's one more twist to the baby plot. Starting this afternoon, all of the babies will begin to show different symptoms, and the parents will be forced to take care of their sick child. There are multiple illnesses that your baby could come down with so feel free to be creative! While they can meet with Zest for medicine, they will be responsible for taking care of their children, and this is intended as a way to bring parents together.

Thirdly, in preparations for OWLs, 5th years will be dealing with boggarts on Monday and Wednesday. 6th year potions students will be making Felix Felicis Tuesday and Friday. Lastly, on Wednesday, 7th year COMC students will be working with glumbumbles, an insect that produces a fluid that causes melancholy. They will be collecting this fluid, but if they do not handle it correctly, they could spend the rest of the day feeling melancholy.

On a final note, we know everyone has been busy lately, but we do urge you to try to include public parts of entries when possible. With things moving a little slowly lately, it can be frustrating to find that everything is under wards or in an owl.

Sup my darlings! Quick note to say that on Sunday night, Eddie and Corrie had a row in the Hufflepuff dormitories. Those poor roommates, ahahahaha. Emily and I are currently threading it but it's probably good to post this here for in-character knowledge~

For Hufflepuffs, Eddie carried on for a bit and then stormed out through the Common Room and to the boys' dormitories to give the baby to Robb. People are welcome to have seen this!

So starting Monday, it would be quite noticeable that something isn't Quite Right between Corrie and Eddie. Eddie, for one, will be avoiding all eye contact with Corrie even though it will be really hard because she legit immediately looks at Corrie if she finds something hilarious. She will not be speaking to her. :( Eddie will also be making really angry little comments and refusing to pass the salt or any sort of food stuff. Things are cold, yo.

During classes, she vacillates between surly and antagonistic, and during Quidditch practice, Eddie is being particularly brutal. :| While that's generally good for offence, it also means that she is getting a lot more fouls than normal.

As many of you have noted or asked about, starting on the 13th, characters will be affected by a love potion. Since this plot is a little complicated, we're going to explain everything on the early side to give people time to plot and ask questions. Basically, an anonymous person spiked a few drinks with a love potion, and the characters affected will be under the influence until the 17th (unless, of course, a friend takes or drags them to the hospital wing for an antidote). Unlike many of our other plots, we're not randomizing characters to find out who takes the potion and who is the target of their affections. Due to the nature of the plot, we think it's most fun if everyone gets to decide that for themselves.

There are a few guidelines though. Those with three or fewer characters can only have one affected; those with four or more can have two. The number of characters you have also determine how many of your characters can be targeted. So, again, for now, only those with four or more characters can have two characters who are the object of someone's affection. Each character can only be the target of one person; we don't want everyone falling for the same person, but if you have a really compelling reason why x and y should both fall for z, we're willing to listen. Lastly, if you have two characters who have taken the love potion, they must fall for characters that have different players. In short, we want to get as many people involved as possible!

So comment here with the character(s) you want to take the love potion and who they will fall for. You're free to use this post to work out plots or to figure out who a target will be. You are in no way required to participate though, and if you don't want some or any of your characters to be targeted, just leave a comment here saying so.

Sup lovers, brothers and character mothers! Just for a quick plotly FYI of things that are happening but won't have a chance to be scened.

Because Raisa and I are cruel wicked mean mummies awesome and Hayley is also agreeable to boot, we're torturing Ros. Just a little.

You may have noticed Dani gabbing about her bitchin Christmas ring from everyone's favourite head boy. She can press it against someone (third years, brothers) and give them a mild shock with the right words. In actuality, this was completely platonic and, I believe, delivered by owl. No soft-focus lenz, no snowflakes caressing flushed cheeks, no M7RC playing oh-so-romantically in the background. Ros, however, is reading things into the whole situation (namely the significance of the brooch she receieved as opposed to Dani's ring) so we decided to give her a few more things to read.

To this end, Dani was sitting in MCR before class admiring the ring (because YAY tazer) which isn't helping Ros any in believing it's simply a platonic gift. Then in the prefect meeting yesterday she made a point to sit next to Jerry and thank him for it, Ros being too busy stewing to notice the conversation remained as friendly small talk.
Dani and Jerry are both completely oblivious to her ~inner turmoil and have no romantic interst in each other.

Ladyfriends of Ros if you saw any of this, have at it! I'm not sure who elae this is relevant to but it makes me laugh and I'm proud of doing html stuff on le train so you have to read it.

So, I just wanted to give everyone a head's up that Will shall have the brilliant idea in the middle of the Gala to invite all of the fifth years over to the Leaky for New Year's Eve to ring in the new year. (Yes, the Gala is the 30th, but don't expect him to give two shits about planning ahead). Fifth years will be the only ones invited initially, but Neville and Hannah will have him open it up to anyone Eddie or Frank (or Tristan, so feel free to mention the infants/fourth years) would like to invite as well. So basically anyone and everyone in the game, if they're in Britain at the time.

Basically, I'm under the assumption there will be some sort of party in Diagon, but even if there isn't, the fifth years will be invited to hang out/ring in the New Year at the Leaky, which will probably go from about 9:00 PM to about 1:30. People are invited to sleep over if they'd like (or cannot go home via the floo, knight bus, or apparition), though boys and girls will be in separate rooms.

There should be some more info when Will makes his post late night of the 30th/early morning of the 31st.

As a general FYI, following Frank's departure the mods asked me if I would be all right with having Jeremiah as the Head Boy. Since he was frantically gesturing for attention in my head and making "no no no!" type faces, I naturally said yes. So here he is!

We've also decided to assume that he's had this role since the start of the year, except unlike Rosalind, he was actually a prefect for the two years prior to landing the top job. But yes, haters, feel free to gripe at some point that not only do the Slytherins get the Quidditch captain, both head prefects are from there too! If anyone wants to do a backdated log reacting to his appointment, I'd be up for that, either friends who think it's a riot, established troublemakers who want to test the new guard, or jealous colleagues who wanted the job.

He'll try to behave in much the same way that he did as a prefect, as he reasons that's what got him the nod in the first place, although with the increased status his nice and comfortable medium as a senior-prefect-who-was-not-the-Head-Boy has been taken away from him. But when it comes down to it, he doesn't have any trouble delegating, giving you detentions, or telling you things you don't want to hear. Prefects, he'll also be trying to establish a patrol roster for next term, if that's cool with the mods.

OOCly I've also created a drop box for him, so if there's a journal thread that you want brought to his attention or something that happened off the journals, you can leave him a note there! Comments will be screened, and mwuhahaha-ed over by me. ;)

Hello everyone! Last night's dinner had some, uh, song and dance as entertainment, among other things. Yes, if you are wondering, this happened due to dares. So what happened?

Initially, Roald was playing the fiddle, which Vasili started dancing to with a rose held in his mouth (which would look like this if he were a puppy). Katja joined him in dancing, which was to Russian folk music. Other people are welcome to join. Part of Vasili's moves had this element in them. If anyone's interested, he would have looked like this when doing that move as a little kid.

However, that was not all for entertainment. Eventually Roald and Dominque started dancing on a table, with Roald in a sparkly dress, heels, and a tiara. Dominique couldn't stop laughing, and I imagine it became very silly from that point on.

Although she's being rather upbeat and cheerful about the career day - and about seeing her parents in particular - it might have been noticeable during the sessions that she was looking more frazzled than usual, particularly when looking over the various Quidditch booths. Depending on who your character is and how well they know her, they might put this down to homesickness, worry about the future or the Team Fabulous Great Cupcake Debacle (tm!) or even a mixture of the three.

However, the clues about what is really bothering her lie in what she's up to when she is out of class and goes to hang out by herself. She's been going for long runs and (not so) secret flying sessions - not for 'me time', but to test how well her old injury is holding up. She hasn't mentioned it yet, because she's worried about what people will think, but this is the time by which the Healers said she should be able to get back on a broom and fly again. In essence, she's physically pushing herself to see what she's capable of and if she'll ever be to the standards she was at before she got hurt - and THAT'S what's upsetting her.

Career Day basically reminded her that she has options, but she's flailing about whether she'll ever be any good at them. Being in 7th year is blowing her mind, so she's throwing everything into her managerial efforts to take her mind off things. The TFGCD is upsetting her perhaps more than it normally would because now she's doubting herself on the managerial front as well as the playing one :(

In any case, if you have a character that knows her, do as you see fit. Plot? :)

Tanner and Lysander had a conversation in T's journal a while back about mistletoe. Once the decorations were up, Tanner hexed a few of his own sprigs of mistletoe and hung them up around the castle at random. If they are tampered with / attempted to be removed, some will sing LOUDLY in protest. Some will shower people with glitter storms or pelt people with berries that manifest from the flowers. Because he also tucked a little holly in with his. And some, the flowers will crawl down and bite the hands that try to remove them.

Basically: if someone tries to antagonize the mistletoe, such as Lysander, by getting rid of ~nargles or whatever he said made the mistletoe dangerous, if he did it to Tanner's mistletoe, it would certainly fight back.

Have fun! But remember: it's not ALL the mistletoe and you do not have to be a part of this plot -at all-.

It's apparently an announcement kind of week!

Secondly, some of you may have noticed on the calendar we posted yesterday that CAREER DAY IS FRIDAY, 9 DECEMBER. Here's how this will go down. First off, all classes for 5th, 6th, and 7th years will be canceled. BUT before you celebrate, kids, realize that this means you will be stuck in the Great Hall all morning! Immediately after breakfast, there will be short presentations from the "head" of each department on what sorts of work they do. Then, after about an hour and a half, the Great Hall will transition into a Career Fair type set-up, and each "company" will have their own area, with a bunch of representatives milling about—and sorry, the doors are magically closed until lunch, so no sneaking out early! Nicely, the staff of Hogwarts reached out to a certain group first, so the majority of people here to speak to the students are...their parents/guardians!

Yes folks, Hogwarts is about to get bombarded with the parent folk (and foreigners, your parents were sent invitations as well!). Not only this, but a few of the inns in Hogsmeade have offered special rates for parents who'd like to stay on Friday and Saturday night to a) see the play, and b) enjoy a day in Hogsmeade with their kid(s) before the holidays. We've started a list of careers that will be represented and the people who will show up to represent them which you are welcome but not required to add your kids' parents/guardians to. Feel free to also add professions that I've forgotten that aren't represented! Sorry Weasley-Potters, all of your family is going to troll you because they are canon and I said so.

In the vein of the above news, and from some interest in chat and in posting pictures of families to journals, we thought a taken parent pb list would be useful! Feel free to comment to add your kids' (please consult with their siblings first, if any!) in a comment, and we'll stick them on the list. Please note: due to age ranges and to be fair to new and future players/characters and the PBs they may want, we are not doing an NPC list for siblings. Sorry.

For the foreigners! You also have the option of remaining at Hogwarts over the break. The manners of transport you used to get here (found here) will depart Hogwarts on the 22, same as the Hogwarts Express. Those modes of transport will leave to return to Hogwarts on 1 January (Salem) and 2 January (Beauxbatons, Durmstrang). Anyone going home but also going to the Warbeck gala will need to arrange a portkey.

So this weekend, Aggie talked to James about seeing Eirik. Lauren and I are threading it, but as we are slow, it may not be up for awhile. But basically, this means that James will be a sad puppy for awhile and he will be angsting it up like a champ. This will be interrupted by bouts of anger because he also wants to kill Eirik because dude, bro code~ there will be a showdown at some point, methinks. James may also actually explode. So. Fun times all around.

Lauren says Aggie will be more humble, mostly shown in her posture but she'll also try to be with Eirik more because, you know, don't have to hide. Anything to add, Lauren?

So just as an FYI, most relevant to BB, 6th years and Dani's friends...

At the moment, Dani's pretty close to running herself into the ground. She's got 5 clubs, Quidditch, prefect duties and the BAT test at the end of the year, and between all of that and missing home leik woah and the run down to Christmas, she's on the verge of exhausting herself. Also the gala.
It doesn't help that she's been punishing herself for the loss to Salem (she feels she should have protected Alphonse in both games) with daily bludger practices and long evening runs.

So, feel free to notice she's been short/snappish or looks tired, not her usual approachable self, etc, and her friends/team can intervene/tell her to SLOW DOWN soon?

Hii! I hope everyone in the US is having a Happy "Fat Holiday"! So, Eli and Elliot decided that for Hogwarts' Thanksgiving celebrations they would pull a few pranks!

- They have charmed random objects throughout the castle to make a feint "gobble gobble" sound incessantly throughout the day! Your characters will hear a chorus of it wherever they go, and if the object is approached or hit with magic it will stop briefly.

- They released tons of lawn gnomes into the castle dressed as either pilgrims or indians. The gnomes are incredibly unhappy about being there, but they will be causing mischief and may bite if you try to de-gnome the castle.

- Eli has charmed a frozen turkey to wander about the castle, following people around, knocking into them and possibly trying to secure itself on Riley's head if it manages to find him and Stevie agrees to it (grudges? never).


So, feel free to have your characters notice these things!
