Hello!
Spring break is in about a month and I don't know if everyone has plans or not. If not, I was thinking that I very much am tired of winter and would like to use at least one of my spring breaks as a college student doing more or less stereotypical college student things during my spring break which basically means finding a beach. Less wild and crazy beach and more just a beach where I can sit in the sun for a few hours and remember what vitamin D feels like.
That being said, I was wondering if any of you would be interested in joining me for a bit of a road trip? It doesn't have to be for the full week or anything -- maybe leaving on Sunday and then coming back Thursday? As for destination, I was thinking Savannah might be nice? I've only been a couple times when I was younger and I think it would be fun to see older and with friends. There's beach things we could do, but so much else to see and good food to eat. It's also about an eight hour drive from Dunhaven, which doesn't seem too painful if it's a roadtrip together. Also, to keep costs down, I figured an Airbnb would work great; Cash and I had good luck with one in January, so I think that means I have a skill in picking them out. I found one that would fit us all for $60/night that looks real nice.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I'm pretty sure I'm going with or without you all, now that I've gotten myself all hyped about it, but it would be more fun with friends. Obviously, I totally get it if you already have plans, but let me know and I can start getting stuff booked!
I was thinking that with Kai (hi, Kai) having been away for his birthday and then missing some of the Chinese New Year celebrations out there because of having to come back for school, that we should probably help him out with a bit of both? I was doing some research on traditions and it seems like there's a lot of food and fireworks and family, all of which I think we can probably handle, even if it's chosen family. It won't be a parade, but we can try.
Anyway, I don't know what everyone's schedules are looking like, but I was thinking we could do something Friday evening at Fitzwilliam? I'm assuming everyone will be back on or around campus by then and we're already so good at taking over the kitchen space already, so why not do it more? As long as no one tries to put anything crazy in the microwave (you know who you are) we should be golden.
If you guys still want to come and you're okay with February 2-5, I think I'm going to get everything booked tonight so we're good to go. Technically we could stay at the house in Portland, but it's been a long time and I'm not sure what kind of shape it's in since my grandparents take care of all that, so I was hoping you all wouldn't mind just doing a hotel instead. I have one in mind that I think you'll all like.JORDAN
And if you wanted to stay home for Cash, you know that I would understand, right? Obviously you don't have to tell me anything since it's not any of my business, but I don't want to take you away if you should be with your family.
I'm thinking about taking a couple of days this month and going out to Oregon.Tell me it's a bad idea, becauseWhile I have the time off, you know?
You know, it's not too late to come with me.
I know that this is last minute, but it was just brought to my attention that my grandparents are going to be out of town over New Years, thus leaving the house empty, with the exception of the dogs and myself. So, in wildly stereotypical coming-of-age movie fashion, I think that means there's some legal requirements there that say that I have to throw a party? So, that's what I'm doing. I know the town has their thing, but I guess I still feel like that's the place the ~grown ups~ go to and I'm still roughly 10-15 years off from actually being a grown up, despite being able to legally drink. In case you also feel this way, consider yourself invited to ring in 2019 with me.
I'm going to get food and drink and, I don't know, fireworks? Are fireworks a thing people do for New Years? I'll get fireworks, so long as everyone promises not to burn themselves. But mostly the food and drink. Bring people, bring no one, just bring yourselves. ❤️
What does it mean if I have dreams about being an invincible alien? Like am I more or less than, or equally crazy to the rest of the people in Dunhaven dreaming about strange things?
Java Chip is coming out with a new caramel turtle blended iced coffee and I thought you would want to be the first to hear about it because it tastes every bit as good as it sounds.
I'm also might have brought a kitten home from the shelter under temporary circumstances.
There is a kitten in the house. She is very small and cute and likes to swat at ankles.
Hi. I'm [...] very sorry to bother you. I realize you're probably actually celebrating the holiday today and not working and here I am sending you a message that's work-related, so feel free to ignore this until you're actually on the clock. A classmate of mine was talking about having taken one of your self-defense classes several months ago and that's who I got your name from. Do you only teach at the YMCA? I mean [...] do you teach private lessons, maybe? In self-defense, obviously. It's just, I don't know that I really want to go to a group thing right now? But I want to learn how to take care of myself and I don't know of any other classes being offered. Which, I mean, if you aren't able to offer something outside of those classes, I'd even be super grateful for maybe a referral to someone who could? Just [...] not in DC. I mean [...] I'd prefer somewhere less [...] prolific.
I realize probably none of that made sense.
Have a happy...Sunday?!
How was prom night? You haven't sent me any pictures yet. You should do that.
Was Lyra serious about looking for a bigger house?
[...] Hey.
