If you guys still want to come and you're okay with February 2-5, I think I'm going to get everything booked tonight so we're good to go. Technically we could stay at the house in Portland, but it's been a long time and I'm not sure what kind of shape it's in since my grandparents take care of all that, so I was hoping you all wouldn't mind just doing a hotel instead. I have one in mind that I think you'll all like.

And if you wanted to stay home for Cash, you know that I would understand, right? Obviously you don't have to tell me anything since it's not any of my business, but I don't want to take you away if you should be with your family.

I bet you all were thinking, "Oh, good. Charlie is going to stop asking random questions about our dream lives because it's an uncomfortable and awkward topic most of the time." HA HA. No, not quite. I'm too curious for my own good and I think, eventually, all of this information will be of use to us. So here's the next topic for discussion for all you second-life dreamers out there!

Java Chip is coming out with a new caramel turtle blended iced coffee and I thought you would want to be the first to hear about it because it tastes every bit as good as it sounds.

I'm also might have brought a kitten home from the shelter under temporary circumstances.

There is a kitten in the house. She is very small and cute and likes to swat at ankles.

1) Since we’re on the wrong side of the planet, NASA is live-streaming the lunar eclipse right now! You can see it here*. It’s the longest one this century, so that’s fun! I’m glad they’re streaming it so the rest of us can enjoy it too.

2) What are your favorite nature/animal reserve/conservancy Instagrams? I need more positive things on my feed. I’ve been obsessed with the Amboseli Trust’s insta lately. They have twin elephants! Twins! They’re very rare.

3) The weather is hella nice right now, and it’s supposed to storm a bunch next week, so I was thinking about driving up to Assateague Island this weekend. Does anyone wanna go? Picnic on the beach? It’s a bit of a drive, but it’ll be nice.

So I had this idea and it's obviously a good one for that reason alone. And since it's an excellent idea, that means no one can fight me on it or make any feeble attempts to protest out of a need to make sure no one's imposing on anyone else. So, disclaimer: a) there is no imposition because there's an invitation involved and b) even though it was my idea, I already know every Lane will be in agreement with it.

What is this grand idea that requires such a preface, you ask? I am so glad you did. (Though, lbr, everyone knows I would have told it regardless of interest because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.)

I think all Steeles of the young and beautiful (and smart, and kind, and compassionate, and amazing, etc etc) variety should join all Lanes of the 1074 Hobb Ct variety for today's celebrations. Dad's grilling chicken and ribs and hot dogs and hamburgers and Mom and I are making potato salad and baked beans and pasta salad and deviled eggs. Malachi's making something, but I can't tell what it is yet (love you 😏) though I am confident that it will be edible. Needless to say, it is WAY too much food for the Lanes of the 1074 Hobb Ct variety to eat all by themselves, so we need your help.

Besides, I'm pretty sure Dad has now claimed you both at this point, for better or worse, so it would make him very happy to have his extended family of the young and beautiful (and smart, and kind, and compassionate, and amazing, etc etc) variety of Steeles at the house today.

Hello, Dunhaven!

I'm pretty sure everyone knows me because I am legitimately the loudest resident in this town but, for the sake of modesty, allow me to introduce myself to anyone who doesn't. I am Charlie Parker, a senior at Athena Academy. For one of my capstone projects, I am hosting a social experiment that requires your help. It's kind of like Post-Secret which, if you're unfamiliar with it, is a project that collects anonymous secrets on postcards. It's wonderful and I highly recommend it. I would like to conduct something similar here, though it would be isolated to the network versus mailing me your secrets. It's really easy to participate. All you have to do is leave me an anonymous secret here. All comments are anonymous in that even I won't be able to tell who posted them. Though anonymous, they will be public. Comments can be anything, even something as simple as song lyrics that speak to you but that you wouldn't share with other people normally.

Please help me, Dunhaven! You're my only hope of getting a passing grade on this capstone!
