After Dash told Effie about Penny's confession, they went to the police together to report everything. He was visibly nervous, but that's just because it was about his friend, not because he was guilty of doing anything wrong. For once.

It's been an emotional day for Dash :/ And feel free to have seen him going to the police department!

Flash Reactionary - The Sunday Arrest

[info]whatchagunnado
[info]casefile
At approximately 5am Sunday Morning Emilia received a call saying that the blood on Rhett’s Wyatt’s shirt was a match to Moira MacTeer’s blood. Any observation town folk may have noticed that she never appeared for her usual Sunday run from her house, to the river path after which she usually makes a stop at Common Grounds.

TONY TROY, who was on duty at the time, received a call from her. Emilia explained that she was on her way to his house in Henley Park and they needed to go there now too in order to assist her arrest of Mr. Wyatt.

When they arrived, along with CLEA COX who had just been coming in for their shift when the call came in, Emilia was about a block away, waiting for back up. They pulled up to Rhett’s house and Emilia indicated for one of them to stay out here in case he made a run for it. She knocked on the door, “Deputy Sheriff's Department, open up!”. The knocks go unanswered. After some inspecting they determine he’s not here.

Emilia takes TONY TROY to Main Street with her while instructing the other to call someone in for back up and pay visits to Cecelia and other people close to Rhett to see if he’s with them.

It’s near Common Grounds that she spots Rhett’s Lincoln town car that sticks out like a sore thumb. Especially this early in the morning when most parking spots are still open. VOLUNTEER #3, completely oblivious to the seriousness of the situation, makes an attempt to chat with either Emilia or the other officer who walk briskly past them.

Once inside they quickly spot Mr. Wyatt putting sugar in his coffee in the relatively quiet shop. But there were lots of people around that could cause an issue if he tried to make a run for it. Emilia instructed the officer to stay near the door while she went over to speak with him. “Mr. Wyatt,” she addressed him. Once he turned around so that he was facing her she took out her handcuffs. “You’re under arrest for the murder of Ms. MacTeer.”

Flash Reactionary: Film Crew, Thursday Sept 6th

[info]npcing
[info]casefile
Filming has been in limbo since the on set fire and the investigation of it, cast and crew waiting to hear when filming would resume were contacted today by Cecelia Reyes. If your character is still staying at the Inn she would have talked to a group that morning, if they are staying elsewhere they received a phone call or email to let them know that filming would not be starting up again. The studio decided that a film could be made with all of the existing footage and that the production had already gone too far over budget. Production is over. Cast and crew are free to return home or do whatever else they want as long as they haven't been asked to stay in town by the FCSD.

If your character had questions or concerns feel free to play them out in the comments! Thanks!

Today Eliza decided to spend some time wandering around Fall City.

Clowns have also decided to start popping up around Fall City.

Lacey just wanted to go to the bathroom. A friend was waiting for you in the bathroom of Mitzi's.

Amita picks up a book in Wonderlust only to meet this little guy right behind it.

Nat sees Eliza with a doll at Carson's. She hands it to you and walks away.

Volunteer Four runs into Eliza and they begin to chat. She offhandedly mentions that some clowns have gone exploring.

Volunteer Five finds this lonely little one sitting outside Mena's.

Flash Reactionary: Deputy Sheriff's Department

[info]whatchagunnado
[info]casefile
On Monday, September 3rd, following the lead they got earlier in the week, a couple representatives from the Deputy Sheriff’s Department return to the hotel again. They are still waiting on getting results back from the prints they took in the room the last time they visited. This time they have warrants to search the wardrobe’s of people who were living at the hotel the night of the fire.

Though not with the others at the hotel CLEA COX arrives at the dry cleaners with a warrant for records of any repairs to clothing done between now and the party at the Bellowes Inn.

But don’t think you’re out of the woods if you don’t still live in the hotel! Or those of you who were mentioned in interviews to have gone elsewhere in the hotel (Marce, Blaze & Lacey). You were followed up with right after they finished in the hotel.

Sunday mid-morning, Matt Wolfe was seen walking walking into Mitzi's with a blonde kid that locals will recognize as Matt's son, Rowan. Matt is also definitely smiling, and will be proud to introduce Rowan to basically anyone who comes by, and tell them that he's a Freshman at UCLA and he and Blaze surprised Matt by coming up this weeknd to go to the Foo Fighter's concert in Seattle last night, which was really good by the way.

Matt is both smiling, and surprisingly forthcoming about life, particularly Rowan's, but whatever, compared to his normal self. Rowan's a good natured kid, and will be friendly to just about anyone that comes up to talk to him. Rowan will be hanging out with Matt (or Blaze) most of the next few days until late Monday evening when he's flying back. And Matt will be unusually cheerful with anyone that comes into the gas station for the rest of the week.

Once receiving the news from June about Nat's discovery, Clea and Emilia led the DSD over to the Bellowes Inn to retrieve the cloth from the window. Clea is bursting with excitement but presenting a very professional front. She's eager to get back to the office to get a warrant to test the cloth. Hopefully, this is the break they've been needing!

Witness Statements: Saturday, Aug 25

[info]casefile
After the fire, June started her investigation by collecting witness statements. She would have interviewed the film crew who had been on set that day, as well as any neighbors in Henley Park. When Wayne King called her, she would have asked him questions about what the fire department knew about the fire and its source.

If you have a character who June would have interviewed, please fill out this form.

Flash Reactionary: Saturday August 25th. Fire On Set!

[info]fallcity
[info]casefile
At approximately 6 AM, the house doubling as the March House for filming in Henley Park, erupted in flames mostly coming from the back of the house near the master bedroom. With just a little bit of tequila and a match, it was easy to set the contents of a nearby trashcan on fire. It was small, but it would cause a stir. A little trail of it, maybe to scorch the ground. It wasn’t supposed to be a large fire, just something to frighten the cast… play into the whole haunted movie set thing. An alarm was raised early and the crew cleared from the home as the fire department was called at about 6:20 AM.

ELIZA WEISS first noticed the flames and started shouting loudly to fellow cast and crew. FILM CREW VOLUNTEER 2 thought to try and remove filming equipment from the house before FILM CREW VOLUNTEER 3 stopped them saying, “It’s not worth it.”

EVA MARPLE noticed the smoke and flames when they were enjoying an early breakfast on their patio, they called the fire department. EMERALD MAYWEATHER figured that someone had already called the fire department and phoned the media instead.

Once the fire was completely put out around 10 AM Wayne King and the rest of the department got a call about a small fire in the brush just outside town. Since this fire appeared to be arson and the fire department did not have the time or resources to do a proper investigation right now, they handed off the case to the Sheriff’s Department. JUNE ROGERS was put in charge of getting witness statements and setting up an investigation.

Around 4:00pm this afternoon, May Ryan was driving home from Seattle. About ten minutes outside of Fall City, her car overheats and dies. After a thorough investigation, including banging on the steering wheel, many attempts at turning the key in the ignition, and gentle tire nudges, May gives up and calls/texts/leaves messages for VAL MONTAGNA, JUNE ROGERS, MAX RYAN, RAFAEL VALDEZ, MEGAN MARPLE, and SOFIA ROJAS. She does a small dance in hopes of conjuring THE GOOD WITCH aka MILLY COX. Alas, Lacey Morris is not saved in her contacts.

While she waits for a rescuer, VOLUNTEER ONE is driving along and stops to see if she needs help. May responds by saying that help is on the way, but she could use some company and offers them some candied mango and a bottle of water.

When one or two of her allies showed up, she maybe called off the rest. If she remembered.

A chilling tale of a girl, a stuffed dog, a former boss's car, a mysterious witness...

[info]meddling_kid
[info]casefile
Nat Rogers: Girl Detective, doesn't have air conditioning in her house. She doesn't have air conditioning in her place of work.

However, she does have AC in her car. After a leisurely hour-long drive around town Thursday afternoon, she realizes that her car's running low on gas. Alas, all good things must come to an end.

She's looking for a place to park when she pulls up next to a car that appears to have a dog in the back seat??? Horrified at the thought (who the hell leaves a dog in the back of the car in this heat??) she throws her PT into park, scrambles to get her handy-dandy emergency tool out of her glove compartment, and immediately smashes the car window, because every second counts! But when she goes to pull the dog out through the window she realizes it's just a stuffed animal and all her quick thinking heroics were for nothing.

Throwing the tool back in her car and grabbing the first piece of paper she can find, she scribbles a very scribbly message on it and throws it in the window. It's only roughly legible but there's a very sad face drawn on it and a lot of exclamation points. There's also a much more legible outline for a Ducktales fanfiction on the back. Whoops.

Then she drives away, unaware that someone saw the whole thing. (And also that it's Amita's car. Whooooops.)

This morning Eliza arrived on set with an ice machine and a cooler full of a large amount of lemonade ingredients. Throughout the day she made lemonade for the cast and crew, though she also would have been on call for other duties.

Hugh somehow ends up on lemonade duty when Eliza gets called off to help with sound.

Rhett swears they hear Eliza say "Its poisoned" but when confronted Eliza just seems confused.

Volunteer three brings fruit. Now you have flavors!

Flash Reactionary: Heat Wave!

[info]fallcity
[info]casefile
Hello, everyone! As per the plot calendar, from the days of August 21 to August 25 (this is up a bit early so people have time to plot!), Fall City will be undergoing a Heat Wave wherein temperatures are going to be consistently in the 90s. Since not many places in Washington have central air, this is going to make things miserable for a large portion of the town. Unlike the Power Outage Plot, we will not have a capped number of air conditioners, but rather will leave it up to you and your own discretion.

The day by day weather is listed below along with a few volunteer spots!

MONDAY- 92
TUESDAY- 94
WEDNESDAY- 93
THURSDAY- 92
FRIDAY- 96
SATURDAY- 90
SUNDAY- 91

We will be putting up headers below so that y’all can plot and talk amongst each other about what you might want to see happen or otherwise solicit for general plot or submit ideas. Please feel free to come up and post your own flash reactionaries as the week goes on!

ELLIOT HAHAM’s business has no air conditioning. It might be an impulsive moment, but they say FUCK IT and close shop all week so they can go out somewhere where it’s cool, even if that’s just the river.

SAM ARQUETTE’s home as no air conditioning. They crash on a friend’s couch alllll weeeek. Hopefully they don’t overstay their welcome!

NAT ROGERS sees what they think is a pet inside of someone’s car. They break the window to get it out, only to see it’s a stuffed animal. They write a note (or pretend to write a note) explaining themselves, just in case anyone is watching. Which is good, because VOLUNTEER FOUR is.

LOLA MAYWEATHER tries to buy ALL OF THE ICE at Carson’s. Is it for personal use? Or something else?

MAY RYAN’s car overheats. :(

Which is arguably better than RAF VALDEZ, who just like, generally overheats and is taken in to the doctor.

Today at around 11:30 a.m., MARCELINE COX and HUGH CHRISTIAN received frantic phone calls from Milly Cox. If they did not answer, she would leave them voicemails to CALL HER BACK IMMEDIATELY. IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

If they picked up, they would have received the message that Milly is completely out of ARNICA!! She desperately needs to create an ointment for one of the horses, but Milly's arnica supply has completely run out. She cannot make the remedy without it. Milly knows where there is some growing in the woods, but she's so swamped that she cannot go out and get it herself. IT IS AN EMERGENCY! PLEASE DROP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HELP. SHE CAN GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO GET THERE. IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE AN HOUR.

If they followed Milly's directions to the spot in the woods where the arnica grows, instead of finding Milly's herbs, they'd come to a nice clearing. A big quilt has been spread across the ground and there's a picnic basket stuffed with food and a music player nestled on top of it.

Wonderlust is having their semi-annual sale this weekend. For the entire week, it is 20% off used books on their shelves (which are already 50% off the cover price - minimum per book price is still $2) and a flat 10% off all books. In addition, every purchase made over the weekend provides an entry into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

There is also a Help wanted sign in the window. Amita is hiring part time help, particularly for the weekends.

Emerald Mayweather comes by early in the weekend and buys up every used book by Neil Gaiman. Much to Amita's private dismay JJ MAYWEATHER spends most of Friday afternoon in Wonderlust and has to be chased out at closing by Amita. DIAMOND MAYWEATHER is really hoping that a very specific title and author is available in the used section, and crosses their fingers while Amita checks her inventory.

Most of the weekend there will be small cookies available at the register along with one small cup of chai (per person) and the atmosphere in the store is cheery and quietly festive.

On Wednesday morning, when Henry March opened his door to go check on the animals or to do his morning yoga he would find a non-descript box on his porch. On top of the box would be a note that says the following:

I have been told that today is the day that you're allowed to eat cake for any meal you want. Or even for all three if you want. Happy Birthday. - Hugh

Inside the box is a flourless swedish chocolate cake, and enough freshly ground beans to make 4-5 cups of coffee. Although Hugh is working until later in the evening, he will text Henry during a break to make certain that he found the box.

Milly Cox was up and feeding the pigs when she saw the smoke in Cedarwood. Milly ran to her house. After making sure the fire department was already aware, Milly started a phone tree (if you want to say Milly called your character, feel free!). At around 4:25 a.m., Milly arrived on the scene in her truck with food, water, blankets, bandages, people (if you'd have liked Milly to pick you up or have brought you) and burn remedies to see what she could do to help.

When talking to a responder on the scene, she learned that HUNTER TYLER had run off into the woods after being treated for his injuries. After quickly enlisting MARCELINE COX to take Ty's dogs to the Cox farm, Milly organized a SEARCH PARTY [MAY RYAN, ABIGAIL WATSON, BLAZE WOLFE, MATT WOLFE, WYNNIE LLEWELLYN, CYNTHIA NOVAK, GUS ARQUETTE JOY LLEWELLYN](feel free to add your characters to this!) to look for Hunter Tyler in the woods while the fire department continued to work on putting out the house.

HUNTER TYLER was eventually found up in a tree by the search party. Milly Cox and Abigail Watson managed to talk him down out of the tree. She brought him back to Cox Farm with her. She helped him get cleaned up, found some of Seb's clothes for him, and put him in Marceline's old room with his dogs.

Flash Reactionary; Tuesday, August 14th, 2018.

[info]byfirelight
[info]casefile
At approximately 3:30 AM, the kitchen of Hunter Tyler's home in the Cedarwood neighborhood erupted in flames. The fire quickly worked its way through the house and the fire department responded to a call by 3:40 AM. A truck was dispatched, but by the time they arrived, the fire had spread throughout the entire house. They were able to put out the flames, but the structure of the house was compromised.

Hunter Tyler was asleep during the fire, but managed to wake before the fire had crossed into his room. All three of his dogs were in the basement of the house and escaped through the dog door provided for them. He was minorly injured from cuts and burns after ensuring that his dogs were safe. He was treated for his wounds and smoke inhalation.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
