In the world I come from, the only people with gifts are known as mutants. These powers are inborn and genetic, usually manifesting at some point around puberty.

Here, only a few of you seem to identify as one of us, while several of you have gifts through other means. Magic, scientific experimentation, radiation, extraterrestrial genetics.

I'm curious to know what you do and how.

You're the one in charge of finding missing people, right?

It's odd what you miss from one day to the next. I'm not speaking of coffee or that. But the little things that brought joy to your life.

So I'm curious, what do you miss that would make you smile if you had it here?

We have a problem.

The man who came in tonight is named Magneto. He's a pro-mutant revolutionary, and he isn't going to like waking up in a hospital. He can also control metal, which your little fortress here is mostly made out of. If he wakes up unrestrained, he'll think he's being experimented on or he's been captured, and he may turn you into wall decorations before you have time to explain yourselves.

You should lock him up. The last time we saw each other, he tried to murder President Nixon and his Cabinet to make a statement. He had reasons -- good reasons -- but he believes our kind and yours are already at war, not that provoking you will start one. But I don't know where to put him, unless you have a plastic prison somewhere handy, and you can't just let him wander around outside to leave him to himself. If you can contain him or convince him to stay, let him stay in my apartment; we're from the same place. He's my responsibility.

I've been looking around this place and seen some people who don't look human. If some of you are there when he wakes up, he may not panic. If you have any non-humans with some actual authority around here, you need to get that person to talk to him. If you don't earn Erik's respect, he'll just pry his way out of here and there won't be a thing you can do about it.

I have got to get out of here for a while and use my biotics, discharge some extra energy. I'm starting to build up so much static electricity that I'm zapping everyone in sight. More than usual, even. I blew out a light bulb.

How do so many minds just stop being present? It's not like they got blocked out all of a sudden, or that they died-- those things feel very different. One moment here, the next absent, and no trace of where they went or how.

Good afternoon!

Since I last addressed all of you a lot has happened. I know more than a few of you must be upset, confused, and have questions that you still want answered. If you need to ask them, please do, ask. And I know a handful of you are even awaiting answers to questions already asked. All of your answers will be answered in due time. Today I am addressing you all to announce that a few changes will be taking effect soon. And to clarify how everything is run currently.

In regards to how our government runs only a few minor changes will be taking place. If you grew up on the Ark you are aware that we have governed much the same way that we have for generations. An elected Chancellor and appointed council members. As Chancellor, I will still be your leader, and the council will remain the same. Soon the open seats will be filled by those of you lobbying for the position. I look forward to welcoming our new council members in the near future. Together we will take charge of the military. If you have been assigned to the “military” you will still report to those you have been reporting to up to this point. What is changing is that with a unanimous vote we will now give the order to mobilize for war if the need to mobilize arises. I hope that it will never come to that but we must be prepared.

In addition to these changes the council and I have decided that everything would run much smoother -- and give us room to more efficiently manage more -- if we had a civilian and criminal department in place. And I believe many of you will agree with this. Our newly set up civilian department will manage much of the personal information gathered for all citizens. They will handle any and all civil disputes that arise. While you are still welcome to address myself or one of the council members directly to voice your concerns, we cannot always guarantee a quick reply. A civil department, however, can guarantee that your concerns are addressed in a timely fashion.

Our newly established criminal department will take charge of managing all crimes committed, as well as, investigating any and all disappearances. For those who are unaware, on the Ark any crime committed above the age of majority was punishable by floating. There was no court of law or trial that many of you are accustomed to. If you were under the age of majority you were sent to lockup. And when you reached the age of majority your case was reviewed. Those of us who grew up on the Ark grew up knowing these rules and the consequences of breaking them. If you were caught you paid the price. The Exodus Charter -- which we have followed since returning to Earth -- included many of those same rules and we have upheld them.

The council and I have decided -- after much debate -- to do away with our one punishment fits every crime law that we have upheld for generations. Instead the punishment awarded for crimes committed will now fit the crime you commit. For now we will be working closely with the criminal department to ensure that these punishments are reasonable and fair. We have also decided that the previous law of one child per family is a piece of our past that we can do away with. From now on it is not considered a crime to have more than one child.

We have also decided to create a small court of law. With the creation of this court of law and the other changes we have made we have now opened the door for a few new jobs. Which I am certain you will approve of, Mr. Nelson.

For now we’d like you all to continue working at your assigned posts. When the new jobs have been posted you’ll be made aware.

I know many of you are still worrying about your friends and family who are missing, and I am sorry that we haven't been able to bring most of you any good news yet. Some have returned, but even more are still not accounted for.

Given the strange nature of this world, there are a lot of factors that could make someone disappear in a way that is beyond the ability of a normal search party to find. We've had the assistance of a few of you in using your special abilities to try to locate them, and if I haven't said it already, thank you for all your efforts.

If there's anyone else who has a unique method for finding people, and if you're willing to help us, we'd really appreciate the help. We have to try everything we can to bring these people safely back to the bunker.

Other volunteers, of all skill or experience levels, are also welcome. And as always, please feel free to use private filters if you don't want to share your abilities or skills with the general public.

I served as Senator for the Galactic Senate for some years before I became a leader for the Rebellion. My father served as Senator before me, and our family has always fought hard for freedom and liberty. I thought to run for Councilor under the same ideals that I have always fought for, but I see that I am much more use as a soldier in this world.

As such, I have decided to remove my name from the pool of nominees.

I'm not saying we stop looking. But we should consider that there may be more happening here than getting lost in the woods or even getting lost within this dimension by some other means.

All right so I think a proper introduction is called for if I'm going to be staying here for a while. Emmeline Vance, former DMLE Forensic employee, and it looks like I'm going to be a Soldier while I'm here. Just so there aren't any nasty surprises because I know I'll probably be working with muggles, I'm a witch. So if it's all the same, I'd rather just stick to using my wand instead guns for whatever weapons you lot have here. Just a preference, I'm much better with magic than I am with muggle weapons.

I know I'm not the only one really, really struggling with not geeking out over seeing someone from something we really loved to watch/read. MY ROOMMATES ARE And not telling them that they've been in something that could be watched/read. It made me wonder if the post-pod orientation makes that standard, and if it isn't, do people think that should be?
