Hi, I'm Clark. Dr. Chakrabarti and Rory in Medical have told me there's no point in trying to downplay my other identity. My parents named me Kal-El, and the Daily Planet has given me the nickname of Superman. This is apparently very well known here, so I apologize for the subterfuge - the intake staff have been very helpful, I'm sorry I didn't catch any names. I'm not used to being nearly comatose.

This is quite a lot to take in. The world has suffered so much. Did I fail to protect it? Or is this really and truly not the same world I grew up in? Part of me wants to go to Kansas and see if there's anything left. It seems working for the Planet has gotten me in the habit of writing out my thoughts. Sorry for the rambling. If you'll excuse me, I need to find Lois. I was told she was here, too. Thank you for making me feel welcome and not wanting to run experiments. It means a lot.

Who made resolutions and what are they?


This isn't the place to tell me that resolutions are stupid. Because I don't care. Just so everyone's clear.

So, there's a new year coming and that's really weird, because it wasn't this close from whence I came. But, I'm adjusting and not as starstruck. ..That's not true, I'm still starstruck. In fact, I've made a brand new autograph book to make up for not having my old one that's ready for signatures from every hero I've ever had in the White House.

I've veered off subject, I'm sorry. So, my resolution is to be more open, and by that I mean... Accepting of this place and where I stand in it. I'm Leslie Knope, I don't stay down for long. I can't.

My second resolution is to get every possible Harry Potter-related person's autograph, because you're all amazing and heroes and I love you. I'm not weird. You're weird. No. You're not weird. You're wonderfully real people that I admire a lot.

The melodrama is extremely irritating. Think of the children and keep it to yourself.

And now for something completely different! If you're interested in joining our little temporary holiday choir-carol group, meet tomorrow evening right after dinner in the mess hall. I found some books in the library that have words and music in them, and they look like pretty decent tunes, so we should be able to scratch out a little bit of something tonight, and maybe Sunday afternoon we can try again, and try to have a little concert on December 24.

And remember, anyone who wants to sing should come. Being able to sing isn't a prerequisite for this. It's just people who want to spread a little holiday cheer.

I'm too goddamn old to be jumping worlds. Makes my bones hurt.

Logan. Bets gave me the basics, don't know if I trust anything yet, but point me in the direction of the asshole growing tobacco and hops so I can make some friends and I'm happy.

So, I've been thinking.

It's definitely not easy being in a new place all alone, as a lot of us are, or at least without most of our friends/family/other loved ones, and I've seen people talking about being bored/that there isn't enough to do here, which I totally get. When I'm done working, sometimes all I want to do is stare at the wall because I think I work more continuous hours here than I did at home and it's not as varied (superhero work might not pay well, but it's never exactly the same!), and when everyone is busy with their jobs at different hours, that doesn't leave as much time to randomly chat up that cute person in the hallway as you might think. It's easy to think, oh, I can do that tomorrow or they're probably on their way somewhere, I shouldn't bug them. But I think this is the perfect place to throw caution to the wind and go for something if you really want it. What do you have to lose? We never know what the future has in store for us, here or anywhere else, and it's going to be a long winter.

So, I'm hosting a SPEED DATING night on Saturday! The idea is you'll get a few minutes to chat with someone awesome, and maybe you'll really hit it off and get to take them to movie night. Or you might just meet a new friend, who knows! Either way, you'll meet people and get to hang out and have fun.
