We're looking for a suitable replacement for Dr. Crusher. I hesitate to put more on your shoulders, especially given that this is predominantly an administrative position, but I wondered who you would recommend? Does anyone have hospital administration or laboratory administration?

I've offered your name for the position of Second in Command for Animals & Agriculture. You did so wonderfully at the Farm, and I think it's a shame to waste that talent.

I got to spend Christmas with Sarah this year, which is more than I expected to get when I first got here.

Sarah's basically my kid, for those of you who haven't figured it out yet. She got here last month. When I say "basically mine," I mean in every way that really counts. I've raised her for the last few years, up until I got here by myself. It's been good to see her again, although I really can't say I wished she'd come here. Not to say I didn't miss her every day, but I was okay thinking about her going to high school and parties on Saturday nights and being a normal kid, even if she wasn't here with me.

BEVERLY CRUSHER:

The wind whips devilish through the tents at Bagram Airbase and at night, if it's quiet, and when there isn't enough heat to keep the patients warm, we seal up the seams beneath the door with our coats to huddle in the middle theatre together.

I'm glad to see this place is relatively airtight.

I have your test results, and I'd like for you to come see me tomorrow so that we can talk about how we're going to treat you from a non-magical point of view. We don't have access to a large amount of manufactured pharmaceuticals, but we do have natural remedies that will hopefully help, along with keeping a close eye on your sodium intake, as well as an exercise regimen. Your condition is very serious, but it's not dire, and you can live for many more years if you take care of yourself.

For those who knew her, Anne Blythe disappeared. We really need to find out where they I will miss her and her kindness greatly.

I wanted to take a moment to thank our wonderful medical staff. I know that I've said it before, but you don't get enough credit as far as I'm concerned. I thank you all for the care you have given me and my children. I suspect that we'll see you many times in the next few years.

As much as I'd love to blame this lovely thing on residual effects of Utopium, even I can't see hallucinations happening weeks after. So it's got to be a prank, yeah? Ha ha, Major. I forgive you for being a total prat all week! Hilarious. You certainly went to a lot of effort, with what the very realistic hospital and pandering to my crushes on Simon Tam and Beverley Crusher. You got me.

First, allow me to tell you how proud I am of all of you, for the jobs that you've done lately with the werewolf situation, and with the odd illnesses and injuries that are a normal part of life here in Mount Weather. You are all exceptional beings.

But I would like to address a situation that may or may not be becoming a problem for us as medical workers. We are each expected to take on the burden of caring for everyone in this mountain, but I've discovered that all too often we neglect a significant portion of the population: ourselves. We take extra shifts, or stay longer, or take on extra patients, at the expense of our mental and physical well-being. While we may work like machines, we are not. We are living, breathing beings that need sleep and time off and, yes, sex. Don't neglect yourself. Take time to be with your partner, if you have one, to read a book, take a walk, visit the schoolrooms to see the children, or to just sleep. Keep an eye out for each other. If someone is showing signs of fatigue, stress, grief, or anything that may be affecting their quality of life, speak to them -- or approach me and I will speak with them. Don't do what I did, and bury yourself in your work out of some misguided idea that would take your grief away or make it easier to bear.

Starting tomorrow, each of us -- including myself -- is expected to adhere to the hours we're scheduled. Don't stay late to get just one more test result logged; the next person can handle that. Of course there will be times when we'll be needed to stay longer, all hands on deck, with only a brief break here and there for sleep or food. Now is not one of those times. Things are relatively peaceful, and we all need to take advantage of that.

In short: keep to your scheduled hours, find time to play and to sleep and to eat.

Secondly, after some discussion with Drs. Griffin and Jackson, we are implementing a new processing procedure for new arrivals. Upon awakening, after giving us their name and the names of people they know at home -- a loved one, friends, or otherwise, we will use the database that has been gathering information since we all arrived to ascertain if someone that they are familiar with is here. If there are, then we will inform the new arrival of that, and will also contact next-of-kin or a friend, so that they can help acclimate him or her to their new home. This procedure is to be implemented immediately. If you have any questions, ask.

It is entirely possible that I am the one who splurged at lunch AND dinner and ate three pears between the two meals, but they were so wonderful and I couldn't resist. It's wonderful to have an appetite again, and to want to eat, and to not think that all food looks terrible and will probably kill me. So, kitchen staff! I will be returning to you on Sunday!

ETA:

I don't suppose that there is any baby furniture in storage? Bed, changing tables, rocking chairs are all very necessary. I suppose that the changing table isn't, but it would be nice. I still have several months, but there are others who will need all of this much sooner.

Are there baby clothes? Recieving blankets? Little booties and nappies?

I think that I am beginning to show. Dr. Gates told me that my little one is now about the size of a lemon! How wonderful to be able to have an idea of the size of one's baby while they're still baking.

I need to speak with the two of you. It's very important. And I threw a shoe this morning while looking for my other pair, and it's on top of my closet and I can't reach it, so I need one of you, too.

Kitchen Staff

I'm returning, as I said above! And it will be good to be back; as wonderful as working with the children is, I've found that when I married, I truly did put that part of my life behind me. I miss joining you in the kitchen and creating food with you. I feel that we had a wonderful harvest this year -- I really like the word wonderful this evening! -- and I think that we also should celebrate that. I think that for many of us here in Mount Weather from different places and times, we all have a tradition of gathering around a table with family and friends once or twice a week. With that in mind, I would like to propose the idea of Sunday dinner.

Of course, we eat every Sunday, but Sunday dinner is different. We cook and eat foods that are reserved just for that day, or for special days, and they have a little extra cream, or an extra dessert, or just feature a meal that we don't eat often. What say you?

I woke up in need of a health care professional. Dr. Swineheart is not here, and he was my OBGYN. Needless to say, I wasn't aware that people could gain physical updates as well as mental.
