Last time I was here home on leave, there was a military/vets night sort of thing at the bar - pool, darts and such. This still going on?

Sugar in the gas tank would be a better April Fool's joke, you little heathens. But you're one and done. As it is, the next time anyone thinks it'd be good fun to cut the fences round the horse pasture I'll have a lesson for you. And I dare say you'll truly love it.

I've finally got this thing powered up, so it's time to share what I got from that pod drop: my computer with working flight sim. Yes, flight sim. It's got all sorts of makes and models loaded, plus countless scenarios and environments. It's how I learned to fly on the ground.

But it's not the prettiest thing to look at because the only display I found was cracked, so if you care how it looks more than how it performs, it's not for you. You get used to the cracks and see past them after awhile. The imagery isn't the most realistic, either, but the programming and controls are fantastic.

Poe, giving you the first shot if you want it?

I'm not going to put it in a public area, though, because it's mine I want to watch and make sure it stays working. You'll have to come visit 505Q to play it. Trades for flight time appreciated!

As much as I love sabacc, I'm equally intrigued by all the other card games people know here. Hence, I'm thinking of broadening sabacc club to a general card games night. Bring your favorite card game and we'll have time to learn knew games and folks to break up into small groups to play a few different things at once. I know there was talk of poker, 500, and a few other games as well.


(Also, I now have a mini sabacc table, so if we can convert the power source, you can see the changing values in action versus freezing their value etc.)

Alright, all of the cool kids are probably still playing cards, but I have to stay off my foot another couple days and I'm already going stir-crazy. Got my entire collection of holovids from home in the Pod giving thing a few days ago, I tinkered with BB-8 a little and improved his holoprojector, I'm turning this room into a theatre. Who wants to watch Captain Rygaen's Ploy? Or... hm, let's see. Sacrifice at Endo- No that's Scrivner's Revenge, one of my favorites. I've got Kallea's Hope's to go with it, too.


I have Han Solo and the Pirates of Kessel, too. OH and Luke Skywalker and the Dragons of Tatooine. Classic.


Who's in?

With the batch of Podkru we lost a month ago, it's become clear that we've lost quite a few positions. Several of our jobs are dangerously low on staff. Unfortunately, they're all pretty important to make sure this place runs. If anyone has any kind of experience or would like to switch positions (or even take a few hours volunteering), you would be so helpful.

The positions we're desperately in need of are:

• Nurses
  
• Laundry Services
  
• Shoemakers

I know these positions aren't the most prestigious but they are vital. I'm taking on ever shifts in fishing, radio, and laundry when I'm not out of the compound. If you can help, please do.

I never thought I'd enjoy losing this much, but it's hard to be bitter when there's this many good opponents. I'd say congrats are in order for everyone. It was fun as always to fight even if I lost my first match again, and always great to watch so many different styles in use.

Congrats on doing well in fight club. How would you feel about giving me some sparring lessons? Is that weird to ask?

MILITARY & COMMAND:

Surveillance spotted three disturbances just outside our perimeter. To the north, our intel indicates the presence of four frost giants. East south east, roughly 100 robots. West, orcs.

We're taking volunteers from our military ranks to form three separate teams to handle this. These teams will investigate the disturbances, and defend our home. From what I've been told about what's out there, you should expect hostility. The remaining military will then be assigned to the second and third lines of defense, as well as guard posts, to ensure all of the civilians within our walls are safe. You'll provide back-up, if necessary. Listen to your commanders' orders.

It should go without saying, but until we tell you otherwise, this information is strictly classified. There is no need to incite panic among the rest of the population if we can take care of this at a distance, and I have faith that we can. If these threats make it past our front line, we'll handle it. For now, we're concentrating on making sure they don't get close enough to breach our walls in the first place.

Ok, I think I finally got a handle on this new place enough to introduce myself. Hey everyone. I'm Fn Fin? Finn? Fyn? Fynne? Finn. Yeah, Finn. I like how that looks. They assigned me to being a scout. I'm still getting used to what people do for fun around here, but any game that shows everyone how awesome my buddy Rey is can't be that bad. I might have to try out Capture the Flag next time it's done.

Oh, and Maz. Trying to narrow it down between blue, orange, and green-brown.
