New Year memories can be strange, and stranger still. I have several that I would like to share with you:
  • New Years 1917. Piled into a dugout with my brothers in arms, telling stories and shivering through the mud. Tompkins got a pack of cigarettes and he shared them. We all took a sip of coffee (rum, really. When soldiers tell you they had coffee, it was rum.) out of the same mug and slept as sound as we dared.

  • New Years 1919. Our world had come to an end, but those of us who made it through were desperate to sear the new one with our presence. We caroused, we sucked in life, we celebrated one another. Soon after midnight, I lost my mates following a girl with a green ribbon in her hair through Piccadilly Circus.

  • New Years 1921. I had a new wife and an Italian family. We celebrated with the Palatine Hill as our backdrop, and me swearing in another life I had been a charioteer in the Circus Maximus. My little bird didn't like that, she didn't. But she smiled all the same.

  • To see a new year, with a whole new passel of friends, makes me happy indeed. And to think the last one could have had that leaden peal of finality. Instead, here we are. I am hopeful for the lot of us and I believe that we can only become closer still in the coming months.

So cheers to all of you.

It's been a few days so I guess I'm really stuck and should actually

Celebrating two New Years within a month is definitely a new experience that I never thought I'd have. At least this one didn't have the temptation of actually going out and fighting the crowds.

So, hey, I'm Samirah. Everyone calls me Sam. And Happy New Year. Hopefully this January won't be as crazy as my last one.

For many years, I thought it unlikely that I would ever marry. Templars seldom do, and I had troubles of my own, and it seemed unlikely my life would ever take such a turn.

I am very glad today that I turned out to be wrong. I would have been glad to have more of our friends and family present, but I am immensely grateful for those who were here with us today (especially Asala, who was so kind as to officiate), and if not for the circumstances that forbid the attendance of the others, I would never have met my wife at all.

My wife. It has a very nice sound to it.

Thank you to all of you who celebrate with us today. I cannot think of a better way to begin a new year here on Earth.

Look, my ideal NYE is spent on the beach with a barbie going, but if we've got to see in the new year with a bash in a mountain bunker, fine. Least we're alive. So, happy new year.

There are many reasons that people would keep the truth from someone. Not all of them are good, but sometimes it's better for your personal and professional relationships to refrain from the whole truth. Some only serve to lessen your own conscience, and not anything that would help the other person. Some are helpful to the person learning the news. And some serve only to manipulate.

With compulsion comes a lack of control, and that lack of control can lead to stress. Remember that we have a staff of mental health personnel to help you through this.

I gotta do better about introducing myself. But where I come from, we usually drink or punch first and exchange digits later. Besides, you guys were pretty busy with some crazy supernatural stuff. You need a hand? Point me in the right direction. Cause as far as I see, it's not so different.

New world, new apocalypse, same old human story.

So I'm new Chuck. Hansen. You may already know my old man.

I'm keeping an eye out for my dog, Max. If you see a bulldog who knows a pretty girl when he sees one, sing out.

I think my daughter has gone home. And to what I do not know?

But I shall miss you Dora, getting to know you as an adult has been a genuine honour.

I'd been pacing my room for most of the night last night

Any of you play cards? We should do that after todays proceedings. My husband taught me poker. I'm sure I can magic us up some appoximation of cards if we don't have any.

Not sure what to think about finding my son's dog tags when I know they went with him, along with Striker, to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Is anyone else bothered by how the hell this is even possible, or are we all just glad?

If whatever is sending us this shit can send my damn dog next, that'd be nice.

What are weddings usually like in this world? Or in any world that someone here comes from, really. I'm curious. I've only ever seen Andrastian weddings, and only then either in the little foothills village I grew up in or in Kirkwall. I never thought much of what they would be like somewhere else, but now I find myself in the position of arranging one and therefore the topic holds more interest.

Speaking of which...are you still amenable to officiating? After some consideration, Penelope and I have decided that the 31st night of December will be a good time. It is the last day of the Earth year.

Hi. My name is Sue Storm. And it says that right there. This is stu [...] I'm a new arrival. And I was told I should introduce myself.

I'll be working in tech as an engineer.

I've been here a week now without properly introducing myself, but now that this past weekend's [...] events have been taken care of, I have a quiet moment.

My name is Mako Mori. I was born in 2003 in Kagoshima prefecture in Japan, but I grew up in Tokyo, Anchorage, and Lima. Most recently I lived in Hong Kong, and the year for me was 2025, so I lost 125 years arriving here. I'm working in the technology department as an engineer, although my background would be difficult to explain to somebody who was not from my world - which is a good thing, not a bad one. I was trained by and worked for an organization called the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps, and to keep a complex topic brief, my field of specialty was robotics and weaponry. My work was very specialized, but I hope to be of help here.

    Pleased to make everyone's acquaintance.

All right, what's the potential turnaround on a batsuit? Light and durable are going to be the watchwords here.

    Testing?

This is so stupid. What am I even supposed to say? Should have given me a script, Bell

I'm supposed to be doing a test to see who can actually see this to check and see if the network is up and running. I guess if you can see this, reply back with your name and if you're having any kind of issues? I can pass them along to whoever.
