PRIVATE--JOURNAL ENTRY

January 1, 2151

I woke up to find this new journal placed outside my door. It's a nice surprise and I really want to make the most of this. It's not going to just be facts about what's happening. Anyone reading this can get those from data reports that the computers probably hold. So it won't be just ration talk or how many people are here or the basics.

That's not what made Anne Frank's diary such an important part of history. People need first hand accounts. They want to read a person's emotions, their thoughts about all that's happening around them during the time. So I'll do my best to write about that. Maybe not every day, but at least once a week I'll take time to jot down how I feel, what I've seen and experienced.

It's hard to keep things so hidden.

Especially when all this time it's all been ruminating in my head. I had a world in the palm of my hand. The control center of the stronghold of a race of beings so twisted in their views they were being lead to their downfall by a madman and burning the galaxy as they went

And I found a way to make it trust me. Their World Brain. I taught it that it was more than their slave. I freed it. And then I made it my friend.

They made me their God and I played the part. Said their words, let them believe I had accended. Walked beings to death because in the long run the galaxy needed the saccrifice.

...Because ultimately, I weighed the numbers, gave up a few weeds so the garden would grow.

And I'm not sorry

The ability to lie separates humans from other forms of animal. I don't see why losing the ability is cause for panic and concern, especially given that there are mind-readers and psychics in residence here who probably know all your darkest secrets and weirdest fetishes anyway.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS OF MOUNT WEATHER:

It's come to my attention recently that one of our Fables has been spotted around Mount Weather. Her name is Bloody Mary, and she's a lot more vicious and cruel than you may even think. She can use any reflective surface — mirrors, windows, glasses — as a portal which means that if you have any of those things in your housing, you may want to remove them temporarily until she can be dealt with. She has short black hair with red streaks at the front, freckles and is pale.

I know that a lot of you may believe that you can handle her, but I urge you not to take her on by yourself. She very nearly killed Bigby several times, and he's a tough son of a bitch. I ask that you inform us if you see her, and then find a safe location without a reflective surface.

The demon in me does not want to share with the black cloud. Too much swirling, twirling darkness. It was everywhere. It tickled.

Chatter down on this end is that Emerson turned up dead in his cell. Anyone heard anything? Everyone's got their skirts in a bunch over it. Know what this means?

We've a mystery on our hands! Brilliant, right? Something to do that's not drawing the bloody treeline. Thank you, Emerson; your horrific murder is well-timed and awfully thoughtful.

I know there's a library here but is anyone writing down what's happening now? So we have a record of this history for whoever comes after us?

I miss having a view I'm curious to know, just where did the books in the library come from?
