Greetings! Seasonally! Salutations festively! No, no. That's ridiculous. I can't seem to get this introduction right. Hi everybody! I'm Pawnee City Councilwoman Leslie Knope and I'm completely not okay with any of this at all because this is actually forty-eight miles from my dream second home away from the best city in the world which is also called Pawnee, Indiana and holy crap this sentence has gotten away with me. SO. I should have deleted all that, but I'm too some word I don't even know right now to keep backspacing and deleting and all that.

You know how I can tell I've really gotten around? I'm delighted to have been dropped somewhere near a nice cozy bunker full of people who look like supermodels instead of being left out in the post-apocalyptic winter. Camping out in the snow wouldn't be my first choice. I like it in here. Very survival chic.

I'm planning on heading out on these recon missions once some of the snow clears — I did a couple of flyovers farther north and it looks like we weren't the only area hit with a blizzard. Don't want to wait for the storms to let up, but it's going to put a damper on my search. So I'm waiting, for now, unless I get impatient and say screw it. (That's gonna happen before the week's out.)

Since the firearms competition got some good results, it's about time we did it again. Instead of regular hand to hand class on Tuesday, we're going to have a friendly contest to see which of you has picked up the most in the last three months. No bleeding and no actual murder attempts, all right? Winner gets a sense of satisfaction.

I know we have some new people and some of our students and teachers have disappeared recently, so let me say hello, I'm Commander Shepard. I've organized beginner's training classes that meet on weekdays. Anyone is welcome to sign up, and there are some open spaces for teachers if any of you are experts and want something extra to do with your time.

We have a lot of people here who like to sing, and who can sing. Anyone want to join me in putting on an informal holiday concert closer to Christmas? Nothing too big or fancy, just people singing together to entertain everyone else. If nothing else, we can go caroling once a week and put some holiday spirit into the place.

So, this isn't going to make me any friends, but why don't we just let Emerson die? We know damn well he did what we're debating, and he's just a drain if we stick him in a cell. Nobody wants to take care of him, and if he ever gets free, he's just dangerous. Or just dump him in the snow and let him freeze. This trial is just drawing things out for no good reason.
