Happy 'I finally kissed Ginny Weasley' day to Mr. Harry Potter. Definitely the best thing that ever happened to him.

Also sad to report that even with plenty of time to practice cooking now that we're stuck at home -- I'm still shit at everything but cheese toasties and omelets. But I did at least manage not to burn the bacon this morning. That's progress!

You know how sometimes you can be so weighed down by something and then suddenly it lifts and you feel like you can breathe again? That's me, basically every May 3. It's not that grief is something that exists on a schedule, but more than my mind and my body associate March and April with some of the worst parts of my life and it ..... lingers, I suppose.

In any case, thanks to everyone who came to the memorial yesterday. I hope you were able to find some semblance of peace while marking the memory of the people you love who aren't here with you.

It's been ages since we've all gotten together in a big group. I think we should fix that. No one wants to eat my cooking, but I am excellent at mixing drinks and making up stupid games. Who wants in?

If my husband is my boss, and one of my closest friends is his boss, I should be able to talk my way into just staying in bed and/or disappearing to a really warm beach for a week, right?

Hard to believe this is the second time I've done this in a universe that isn't my own, but here it goes:


May 2nd in my home world is a time when magic users in the UK and Ireland gather to remember the victims of our two wizarding wars. Most people call it Victory Day -- which I have mixed feelings about for a lot of reasons -- but I tend to call it Remembrance Day.

In my almost three years of bouncing around the multiverse, I've learned that everyone has experienced loss. Everyone has someone they miss, be it because you are separated by the universe or by death. With that in mind, I'm offering a gathering on the evening of May 2 in Partum Park. Anyone who wants to attend and pay tribute to people they love -- living or dead -- is welcome to come. I'll have candles for anyone who wants to do it that way, but your own rituals for honoring your people are welcome and encouraged. Even if it's just to stand there silently. We'll get started right at sunset.

I've got no plans to turn it into a party or anything, but I see nothing wrong with a fire and people bringing their own food and drinks for afterward. I personally won't be staying, but please enjoy yourselves.

Without getting into details -- this week and next week are difficult for me, and I'm in need of a distraction.

I know Easter is like one of those holidays that you only care about it your religious -- I'm not, for the record -- but in the UK it's also just a massive thing where you are meant to spend time with your family. Sadly, my only family that's still here, aside from Harry, are those that I've chosen to become so, which I think is the case for a lot of us.

So here's my proposition: everyone who wants to participate, let's get together in the park on Sunday and have a huge dinner. I'll even bribe Harry into helping me make a magical Easter egg hunt for afterward. Though no idea what that actually entails yet. I just made it up. But it sounds fun, right?

Gotta be honest, it now feels like we're living in a very posh part of London and I'm not sure how to take it.

I hate that Ron had to leave, but I've long since learned that nothing lasts forever around here.

New name, new house, new husband.

My head is spinning from all the changes, but I couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone who came and stood in the cold to watch Harry and I get married. We haven't even started opening all the gifts from you lot, but I promise we will! It was enough that you all were there with us.

And then this morning I woke up to find one of mum's hand-knitted jumpers at the end of the bed, which was just the cherry on top of a couple of exceptional days.

I have a very important question.

Who wants a Christmas card? I've been making some in my free time, and I think I've got enough now for just about everyone. Maybe not all the new people -- hi, I'm Enid! -- but there's time to make more.

After a lot of discussion, Harry and I have decided on a wedding date. December 23rd. I know that's right at Christmas, but we aren't going to do anything ostentatious. It will be a simple ceremony, a little food and mingling afterward, and you lot can go back to your lives. We'll have a big, raucous party later and have.....well, as many people as Harry will let me invite.

With so many people we care about missing, we're not going to do attendants or anything like that. No walking down the aisle, or best man handing over rings or that stuff. Just being thankful and appreciative of the people we do have because, if we were at home, some of you wouldn't be there. But we're both happy you are.

Bring a date if you want, and dress warm. We'll have warming charms and all, but Scotland in winter is not for the faint of heart. Bloody gorgeous, though. 3 PM sharp, holodeck 3.

What I've learned about wedding planning so far: it's just as complicated as I thought it'd be. Why do people do this to themselves? It's madness.

Does it really matter if the napkins coordinate with the tablecloths or if the centerpiece flowers complement -- but don't exactly match -- the bride's bouquet.

It all sounds like a way for a lot of people with wedding-related businesses to make money. And also isn't remotely about why we're getting married in the first place.

Seriously. I know a big planned wedding is the thing people do, but why do we have to be the same as other people? I found one of those checklist things and there are over 200 items on it.

One of them is deciding the color of the napkins. NAPKINS. And enrolling in premarital counseling. I don't want premarital counseling. When you piss me off, I usually just tell you. When I piss you off, you brood until I make you admit you're upset. It works for us.
