Mission Atlantis

Thank you to all my flawless models for allowing me to take your photographs today. I just had the sudden need to pick up my camera again. If any of you would like copies, let me know, I’ve set up a makeshift dark room at the house. And the ship’s computer helped me turn the film to digital so I can share the results with you here.

Thank Merlin I'm not stuck tap dancing everywhere anymore. It's entertaining for a bit, but then it gets rather tiresome!

I realize my timing with this isn't ideal, but I do have updated quidditch teams for those of you who play and we have a handful of holes to fill for anyone who's interested in giving it a go. You do NOT need to be magical to play, we've got some safety protocols in place to avoid very serious injury and there are plenty of us experienced players willing to teach anyone and everyone!

Those of you who've lost co-captains again, I'll let you choose your seconds as well as your practice schedules, but I'm hoping we can fill our teams and play some matches soon!

I cannot seem to find my way out of this mine, though I also banged up my shins and that's not helping.

Yet I believe this may be the lesser of my problems—not that I'm struggling to find the exit to a silver mine in what might be an alternate universe of my own late 1800s, but—well, no, to be frank, it is the greater of my problems on a personal level.

The fact I have most certainly located a block of resin in a silver mine might be more of a general problem.

The fact it smells, bends and tastes like acrylic resin is a more substantial one since acrylic resins were invented in the 1950s and I'd never seen one before the Poseidon.

Er, hello, Medical staff.

I was wondering if I could borrow someone's attention briefly to fess up. I have been masking a pre-existing condition and it is now flaring up. I'm certain that at least the magic-using doctors noticed it and that my cardiogram being a bit quirky was obvious, but I communicate better in writing than verbally and simply wanted to be straightfoward with everyone what I was looking for.

Since technically it is two pre-existing conditions, but research tells me the melancholia of my time is now known as major depression and is actually something that is treatable now. That one is new to me! That is also not what I was hiding, it just was not relevant.

I was simply not mentioning rheumatic heart disease, because it was not doing anything, but now both conditions are bothering me a bit. It seems that now there may be treatment for one that will not worsen the other and vice versa? Does anyone know about that? I would prefer pills or teas over anything magical, apologies and thanks for understanding. Simply a bit too much discomfort with magic changing my body and espeically my mind these days.

Considering that I never thought I would have a pet when I was younger, I am surprised at how much I miss Nevermore. Are there any animals on board that I could care for?

Can someone tell me what the hell I got up to last night? Cause I woke up with the mother of of hangovers and I really don’t remember doing, you know, anything that would cause that.

I explored a bit today, and I must admit I am enjoying this vacation much more than I ever imagined that I would.

If I hadn't been doing this on a cruise I wouldn't be doing it at all, so I guess this part was a good idea

Crowdsourcing my biggest wedding planning challenge to date: tell me your favorite mocktails with interesting names. Whether or not you include the recipe.

Or, to make it a game, name a mocktail that doesn't exist and others can make up the recipe. Those others probably wouldn't be me, though, but that doesn't mean I will not be utterly pleased at seeing the results. They may or may not then be featured at my wedding.

In the interest of not going mad productivity — given the fact that, apparently, anything even remotely work-related banishes us to our lodgings — I've drawn up a guide that should assist in differentiating between myself and Prince Loki. Inexplicably, it's been an issue. (  It shouldn't be.  )

His Highness (pictured above left, as though that's even necessary) is at least an inch taller than I am. You can clearly see my hair (pictured above right) is lighter. Our eyes are also vastly different colours — his is jade, mine is seafoam. Both green, both defined shades. Even the Prince's voice is lower than mine. He speaks far more slowly. Have you even heard me speak? I barely take a breath.

So: there you are. Now there's no reason to continue this charade.

📴 - Everyone has two days off. If you try to work you'll be zapped right back to your room.

That last mission—my first, and something of a grand experience on so many different levels—and how it ended was so many levels of scintillating I feel like I just spent the last week sleeping.

I haven't, though, not really, I've spent it practicing, and now I think I am ready to once again take victims volunteers.

A few months before coming here, I worked as a divining advisor at the behest of an organization that knew of my own abilities. Now, I don't think I have any real skills as an advisor, I cannot recall the last time I made a truly good life choice. But I do have skill as an interpreter.

And the way things are going today it seems like at least a few individuals might benefit—so would anyone like a tarot reading? My cards are extremely haunted, but I think that's an advantage.

OOC: While I do have RL tarot decks, I am absolutely no real medium like Edith, and I don't own the deck Edith has, so I'm happy to do real spreads here but they won't be as good as hers by any means! I'm also glad to use a random card spread generator or vague the entire thing so it's not specific, or write out an IC/OOC or log or discuss over DMs in some way that allows players to pick their own characters' readings or—basically, there are whole bunches of ways this could be played out (including totally handwaved!) and I'm game for all of them, this is just a direction I wanted to take Edith in getting her confidence back and having RL make it so that I missed most of the mission stuff figured a post would be a good way to do it. tl;dr please use my character for your character's development and let me use it for hers too!

I've been puzzling over this for a few days and I decided to just come out with it. I got a piece of paper that was about someone that still loved someone that had done something bad and that they had forgiven them even though it was wrong. If you want to identify yourself that's fine but I will keep your seret whether you do or not.

I assume that person got my secret. I was not having a good day when I wrote that, I'm really not as pathetic as that made me sound.

Well, it's nice to see that this ship is just as surprising as Atlantis itself. I did not expect to find myself living on a houseboat today. I've lived in some strange places but not on a boat. The lake is beautiful though.

🌞 What is going on? On and off throughout the week, everyone has a weather bubble above their head indicating what kind of mood they are in. Even stranger, if it's raining or snowing, you guessed it, it is raining or snowing on you! You are feeling every little bit of it, and you might find yourself soaking wet! (Please use your imagination for what kind of weather is above your character's head!!)

I've been through my fair share of portals, but never have I ended up in a place quite like this. There are more.. sparkles and talking boxes than even Wonderland could have ever come up with, and that's not a good thing.

And whose bloody idea was it to call this magical monstrosity a ship? There's not a bit about this thing that suggests such a craft- no sails... no riggings, not even a wheel.

Anyway, I'm sure you've all heard of me. I'm Killian, or as most people like to call me- Hook.

To anyone who might have been greeted by an overexcited puppy this afternoon, I do apologize. Amelia has yet to learn to contain her excitement to appropriate levels.
