Step two: get kicked out of bed. Take a cold shower.
Step three: have your lieutenant hit you with a stick a dozen or so times.
Step four: skip the coffee and go straight to the shit that'll put hair on your balls. EVERYBODY likes hairy balls.
OH yeah, throw in some shit about bathing in the blood of your enemies and jacking off to dragons and you're more awake than you've ever been.

Today is the Midgardian day of honoring one's mother, as I understand it. As such, let me tell you of mine.

Frigga, Queen of Asgard, could temper the strongest steel. No rage could withstand her calm presence. My Father would have launched our people into many an unnecessary war without her calm guidance at his side.

Would that I could have learned patience from her before she was taken from us. Would that I could have spent more time understanding the way she could bring hope to others at the darkest of times. I have tried, more than once, to live up to her legacy and, though I feel I often fall short, I feel that I have at least made her proud.

I could tell you that she believed in my brother when no one else would. I could tell you that she put her own life in jeopardy for someone she had just only met. I could tell you that she raised two rambunctious boys with a kind hand and a stern disposition. I could tell you that there could be no better queen of Asgard, past or future.

But I will tell you that I love her deeply, and think of her often. The happiest of this day of mothers to those of you with either born or adopted offspring. May Frigga's heart be with you.

There are many of these writers who clearly have a distinct lack of understanding of the chaos of battle and the typical lack of opportunity for mid-combat intercourse.

All told, it is all highly entertaining, however.

It is, perhaps, a small thing, but it is an extraordinarily reassuring feeling to grasp my sword and feel the familiarity that I had forgotten while away.

First off, welcome back.

Second, I'm getting nervous. With all this talk of consequences and radiation.. I mean, we don't know if our powers will work like they should. Some do, some don't. I think I've been lucky so far, the healing, the seasons, Jack - it's all worked like it should mostly.

But what happens if the next time I try to heal someone, I kill them? Or if the next time I tell Jack to attack the enemies in battle, he ends up attacking us instead?

I don't know how the Greek & Roman stuff works, but I know that mine is Aesir magic, which is different than Sam's abilities. But then with some of the stuff, I don't know how to not-use them. I mean, I can't not be an einherjar.

I missed out on the bake sale yesterday. Work held me up, so I guess it's more storebought for me. Please read this as a subtle request for anyone to offer up anything they picked up and are willing to share. Childcare is experiencing a sincere lack of care, namely of the adult oversight variety. I did not have time to enlist Captain America to do a rousing speech, but, truly, must I say more than think of the children?

Thor, whatever you happen to be doing, cancel your plans. I already volunteered you to help me.

Now that I'm a bit more settled in I thought I'd ask for a bit of help. Dr. Foster and I are attempting to put together a database of all of the universes represented here as well as any supernatural or magical elements that might go along with them. We'd also like to gather as much information about universes that may have once been represented here, but are no longer. I've come up with a survey for individuals to fill out and we will also be canvasing as well.

The hope is that with a better understanding of the magics and supernatural elements found in each universe we may be able to help individuals here. The possibilities across universes is really quite fascinating and there can be some good we can do for our fellow man perhaps.
