Bonfire Night in a few days!

Who wants to spend the next few days furiously making warm apple cider for the occasion with me?

[info]dissectsthings

It saddens me that it's getting a bit too cold for star gazing, now. I guess I'll need to find something else to occupy my time soon.

Anyone got any suggestions? Since many of the things I'd normally do at home, aren't actually possible. And, lab time doesn't count as time off apparently

So, it's just you, me and Ward left then?

The support systems for the Ark over at Camp Jaha have gone down, and they haven't been able to repair them. Mount Weather is going to be taking in a lot of people rather quickly, and they need our help. The best place to set up some temporary housing is in the warehouses, and so we'll be doing that. First things first will be going through and putting as much as we can into storage. Small and portable would be best, so some containers that are bigger on the inside will be necessary. We'll also be putting some spells up to enlarge the warehouses to accommodate all the people, and they'll need warming charms. Anyone who is proficient at creating portkeys needs to also make themselves known to Snow White so that she can begin coordinating transport of the people.

We need all of you on this, even Snape and Pettigrew. There's a lot of work to be done and we have to get it done within a few days. We'll meet in the larger warehouse just after breakfast. Make sure you eat early, yeah?

And I just found out that we're going to need to duplicate some bedding for these incing people. So any of you who're good at that sort of thing, we'll set you on that. I know a few of you are, at least.

Who decided it was a good idea to fill the place with pumpkins? How did we get so many pumpkins?

Everywhere I turn there's a new jack-o-lantern with a sneering face staring me down, like it's disappointed with my life choices.

Not everyone loves Halloween.

what have you done now?

[info]toujoursentache

So, I was given a list of names of people that are here that would help me acclimatise. Which is all well and good and everything most of them I'd be delighted to speak with but some of that list is just entirely impossible and rather a cruel joke if I'm honest. And others I have no wish to see.

But they tell me Nymphadora is here?

I'm honestly unsure of what to believe right now.

So, say you know something. An awful thing that happens back home. In fact multiple awful things that happen. And say you're the one person here from home that remembers the awful things.

It's better not to tell them, right? Because what good will it do? What will it change?

Is there something I'm not seeing to make this a good idea? Cause right now it seems like a kriffing awful one. But my family have an amazing habit of not giving up if they figure there's something you're not saying

Network Post: Minerva McGonagall

Let's get on with the introductions, then. I'm Professor Minerva McGonagall. I shall be teaching, although what I'm to teach, I don't yet know.

I appreciate that the medical staff wished to have a familiar face facilitate my arrival, but I've spent enough time in a hospital bed of late. I understand that over a dozen of my current and former students may be able to assist me. If you were intending to come and see me, I seem to be in a Muggle laundry room at the moment.

Can't really say that I'm sorry I missed both movies. But I'm hearing a lot of you say that you enjoyed them, so good for you. I'm glad you did. Me, I had a good night in with Peg and a book and more girl talk than you can shake a stick at. You can thank my curls today for Peggy's patience. I only wish I had somewhere to go to show them off!

You never showed those sort of moves when you were on stage in Passaic, Brooklyn. That was fun. We should do it again sometime.

Who is the expert on locally available fauna?

[Filter: HP folks, Snow, Bigby, and those who have asked about the Wolfsbane Potion]
I have put together a list of the ingredients, and the instructions for all the good it is likely to do us immediately.

There are three ingredients that in our world are magical in nature and thus not likely to be easily found in this world. There are additionally ten other ingredients that while mundane in origin may or may not exist in their form here in this world. Either they may be extinct, they may never have existed here, or they may be altered in such a way that it would make the potion impossible to reproduce.

I wish to state very clearly that this potion is not your simple stone soup. What goes into it and when matters tremendously. Three of its primary ingredients are poisons, and are found in use throughout many potions within Death, Despaire, and Delirium: Potions to Feed the Deepest Fears because they are intended to kill. In the case of this potion, it 'kills' the wolf for the period of the full and Belby's work was revolutionary in that way, but as you might imagine considering that fact it was not without cost and that cost was in lives of werewolves.

The end result is a potion that has improved many lives, but I cannot guarantee a successful potion here under current circumstances and likely could not even with the magical ingredients.

If you have questions ask them and I will answer what I can.

Just in case any of you were considering becoming a werewolf, don't. The pay's shit, and the transformation's lousy, and the company didn't say a fucking word all evening.

I have a question, and bear with me for how ridiculous it sounds. Was Donna Noble there all day? She spent the afternoon with me -- said that Dr. Crusher gave her permission to take the afternoon off. But she's telling me that she was in medical all day.

I've been here near to about a week and I realized that I never properly introduced myself, so I thought it best that I actually do something about that. So, hello, I'm Lily Potter. I'm from London and it was Christmas before I was brought here, so the change in weather has been something to get used to. Then again, anywhere that doesn't rain most of the time is a change in weather for me.

Um I'm working in medical as a doctor, so hopefully I'll never see you at work. Ha-haaa, terrible joke. My medical training was of the magical variety, but it isn't all wands and potions so I do know things. I specialized in Spell Damage and Creature-Induced Injuries back home, for whatever that may be worth.

Anyway, that's about it. I'm fairly boring. Lovely to meet you all.

COMMAND, MAGIC FOLKS (from here), INFRASTRUCTURE, ERIK LEHNSHERR, BEN REILLY, BIGBY WOLF & ADDED ENGINEERING (TECHNOLOGY):
We have less than 2 weeks until the full moon, and I need those volunteers to plan to be away for the next week or so while we work on this.

We have two main goals that must be achieved. We need a reliable power source for the dropship, so that all of its systems — life support, door locks, etc — are working and stable. Those doors need to be able to close and stay closed. The second is the hole in the second floor. I've enlisted Mr. Lehnsherr to assist with this, so we should have an easier time, but any assistance would be appreciated greatly.

In addition to that, we'll need to make sure that the cells are compatible with one of our superhumans who were turned in this, which means that his werewolf strength will likely increase some-fold number that we don't know yet. Overpreparation is better in this case.

Magical folks will need to take a look and see what we can do in terms of the enchantments. Expansion of the inside, alarms in case anything goes wrong — I was thinking alarm for us back at command, one for the guards, and one in case of any injuries inside— any sort of deterrents we can think of.

Ideally, I'd like to head out over the next day or two so we can have plenty of time to test it out.

MAGICAL SORTS:
As you're aware, several of our community have been bitten and likely cursed with lycanthropy. We're working on a containment facility, and I was curious to see if any of you could assist with — I guess some sort of bigger on the inside enchantments. We had magic that could help us back in our world, but unfortunately our magical Fables are not here to assist. That's where you come in.

I should have my scouts coming back after assessing the facility to help me go over the plans and see what we can do. If you can help, please let me know.
