I've been informed you're quite new here, Ms. Blythe.

You know, I always liked a good Jimmy Stewart movie. And I have to say that as he got older, he got so good-looking. Mm, we need to watch some Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, all those movie stars that I was watching just a few weeks ago. So I have the books on Friday nights and the movies on Saturday. But I am really, really missing my evenings sitting around the radio. I'd even take the Captain America Adventure Hour right now, although now that I've really met him, I have to say that they got him all wrong. But considering what they did to Peggy, I'm not surprised. The Peggy I know wouldn't have waited for anyone to rescue her. She'd do it herself, in high heels, and backwards.

Compared to some others, and particularly to those who call this world home, I have lived here very little time indeed. But any opportunity to remember or memorialize those with whom our time was short is always time well spent.

Sometimes, in looking back, we can be granted great strength. Looks like we're going to bloody well need it

It's odd what you miss from one day to the next. I'm not speaking of coffee or that. But the little things that brought joy to your life.

So I'm curious, what do you miss that would make you smile if you had it here?

I've got a pair of silk stockings that have seen their last legs (quite literally), so if anyone can put them to good use I'll give them a good wash and donate with a glad heart.

If there is but one thing which plagues me more than any other, it's stagnation and inactivity. While cobbling and discovering this world in its own right has its own merits, I find myself with idle hands and begin to wonder if any active hearts and minds here feel the same? If so, allow me to propose a small thing? Please do allow me to play host to a ladies' circle. This group would gather to socialise, certainly. But I should also think that we could put our backs to a host of good works:

Building out the Library, whether through copying or through memory

Stockpiling knowledge of our own various worlds

Honing our self defense skills & keeping physically sharp

Building good cheer and grace amongst our hosts & friends, alike

Playing host to any number of activities which may require our own specific influence

Can someone explain to me in layman's terms what exactly I'm experiencing? Mass delusion or My rational mind cannot accept what I've been told or seen, given that my neurological issues may be ongoing.

So, I'm a shoemaker, which is great because I love shoes, but have you looked at me lately? Aren't shoes made by elves? I am so not an elf.

I'm joking. But yes, I am a shoemaker, and I know that we've got quite a few ladies around here. And guys, too, I guess. Fun fact: heels were once worn by men in the upper classes and to wear them meant you were better than everyone else, or you had more money. So, gents, you wanna wear heels, you won't hear nothing from me. But I've noticed that we're making good shoes, comfortable shoes, for people to work. But what about if there's a party? And I've heard that there have been a few of those. So, here's what I think. We have scraps from all over this place -- clothing has scraps (and yes, I have seen the stuffed animals and they are adorable and I want to help), everywhere has scraps that can be used to make other things. Like... nicer shoes to wear for a party or a celebration or whatever.

Let me know if anyone's interested and we'll see what we can do!

Also, if there's enough people to make up the cast of a show like Pirates of Penzance, then there has got to be more than one dancer. If anyone's interested in having some shoes just for dancing, we'll talk. I myself would like some tap shoes. Gotta keep myself in shape somehow!

This place is a lot to take in. I feel like I was all sorts of way too cheerful but I feel like if I'm not I'm just going to start crying.

How strange it is, with absolutely no warning, to be transported through space and time into a new world with an entirely different set of circumstances. In my world, we had only begun the atomic age. To be here, in the midst of a post-atomic age, illustrates everything we'd feared. I am so s But I am glad to see that there are those who did not see survival as an option but a necessity.

As it is, I myself am glad to be here with you all. Thank you to the medical staff who oriented me to this world. There was some talk of having friends here. I do hope that is the case. But to those I do not know, I am also quite glad to say hello and meet you for the first time. I hope that we shall all be good neighbours.
