In the world I come from, the only people with gifts are known as mutants. These powers are inborn and genetic, usually manifesting at some point around puberty.
Here, only a few of you seem to identify as one of us, while several of you have gifts through other means. Magic, scientific experimentation, radiation, extraterrestrial genetics.

The realization has only just hit me that I barely made much of an introduction when I got here (mostly because I automatically resorted to blame my brother).. I'm Susan Storm-Richards. I graduated from MIT and was chief genetics researcher back home. Here, I've decided on becoming one of the nurses.. although I'm always available as a fellow researcher if anyone does need help on it.
For all the craziness I've already seen in my life (some of it even affecting my own life in a way that I could never imagine), this whole thing seems almost normal. If my husband was here, you wouldn't hear the end of all the theories of parallel universes.

We have some metal in the forge which contains enough impurities to make it unsuitable for any practical use, however it would still be suitable for ornamental purposes. While I cannot give such things priority over my normal work, if anyone wishes to have some sort of jewellery made, I would be more than willing to do so in my spare time.

It's a good way to hone your combat skills and I think with everything that has been going on around here lately, we could all really use the source of fun, too.
